Default What KF really needs

The server selection screen is archaic and in sore need of a face lift. My biggest gripe is that the selection stays in place while the list moves. So many times in the time it took to press enter, the list moves and when I've pressed enter, i'm not going to the right server.

The ingame multiplayer server list is sorely in need of:

1. CACHING. I don't want to reload the server list every time, with every option change. The Steam Server list is good at this, but it doesn't have the filtering by difficulty the KF interface has.

2. Static highlight. If the server selection screen inserts a server into the list above / below a highlight, the highlight should also be incremented / decremented by one, and if the highlight goes off the screen, the box should be scrolled so that the highlight is at least at the very bottom or top.

The ingame connection screen/process needs:

1. Failing to make the connection to the server (whether due to a map change or deliberate cancellation) should not invalidate every downloaded component. The current setup depends on an active server staying on the same map for the duration of the content downloads, and the user not cancelling their downloads. This is a real time eater when it comes to connecting to custom servers that have a lot of content for the first time. Unless they're playing a long game with lots of players and you have a fast connection, you're not likely to get in. 1Mbit / sec (120KBps) connection connection is borderline for big servers.

2. Download Queue display. While I realize that at any time I can press F10 to cancel the connection process, 99% of the time i'm going to cancel is because the server is too slow to send me stuff or respond. If the server is sending me stuff at sufficient speed, I do not know if I want to cancel because there's too much stuff coming in the pipe to be worth it. It's also a sub-problem of the above problem.

I'd really rather TWI worked on these problems than DLC.
