Default KF-Boxed-in

Hi guys! I'm new to the forums and to the Killing floor editor and wanted to create a simple but smallish map. I have posted on this forum to ask you guys if I could get this map on the whitelist so I can level up my perks on solo. Also I want people to test out my level for any bugs or exploits in the map and to let me here so i can fix it. Also can anyone think of a better name? Here are some screenshots of the map and there is a video uploading right now so when its done I will add the link here.

Thanks!

I took a look in KF-ed, looks like is a good start. you need more path nodes though, path nodes are what makes the zeds go places, you can see where you need them by right clicking on the bar with the boxes, click view, click show paths. can't remember what all the colors mean for paths but red is bad. A path at every corner and intersection for the map as is should be good.

for the brushes you used you may want to have them snap a little better to prevent errors in future maps you make. this is done by snapping to the grid and rich clicking on the corner parts of the brush, use your Top, Front, and Side views to help you get them aligned right.

you also may want an additional trader or two and at least 5 more player spawns (not sure if that prevents whitelisting or not for the player spawns).

outside of that, a good basic start, you may want to play around with textures and expanding the map but it is a good start.

aha thank you. I have actually decided to have different versions. I shall rename this one version 1! And as I add to the map I shall call them version 2 and etc. I have posted my map to try and get Version one of my map whitelisted. I will also tidy up my map and add extra rooms with different textures. I also plan to change where the trader is and actually put in the trader counter, model etc and add an door. I will also add extra bits so people cannot walk where the zombies spawn (if you know what i mean). Also I will add some extra items over the place. Oh and weldable doors so hopefully everything goes to plan.

One extra thing is here is the video link for the map aswell!

Welcome, Nice to see some new blood in the map community, things have been a little stagnant lately so its good to see a new face. Fubar has given some good starter tips. If you look on the bottom of your editor, you will see a little dropdown box with a number in it. Next to it is a little square grid button. Make sure that little grid is highlighted(Will have a greenish color, not white) and try to use higher numbers for Brush(The red builder cube) work.16-64 are good places to start, try to only use smaller numbers for placing/tuning your staticmeshes. This will help you avoid map errors in the future and is makes brush tools easier to work with.

Also I know you said you are planning on changing textures already, but try to give your map some "Personality". Give it some sort of theme to make it stand out more. Also long tunnels tend to make it easy for players. This doesn't mean you can't have them, but you could give the zeds some advantage such as darker lighting or maybe a couple holes in the ceiling/walls to throw players off and keep them from getting too comfortable.

If you need any help or have questions, feel free to drop questions.
