One of the features that got me more excited for this game a year ago was the coop / elimination mode. It even was listed as a feature. But then, the launch happened. Back then I understood some stuff had to be cut in order to have the game out in time, and I didn't have much problems in it being put in hold to fix other more serious issues. But now, almost a year later I ask, out of curiosity....where is that mode gone? Is it really gone for good, or are there any plans to bring it back?
I'd certainly would be quite happy to see it back into the game, and so do my friends. PS: Oh, and the online campaign :P <3 |

funny enough a few of my friends got this simply to play co op. they wont play now until its added. regardless of the fact that SP is essentially MP with bots

they were talking about it coming soon, in an update a while back. i'm looking forward to co-op and campaign mode.

Coop? Connect to a server join the same team and you´re actually playing coop! Don´t tell me you wanna play that horrible singleplayer campaign in coop!

We don't want to play that stupid buggy campaign, we want a Decent Co-op game mode, cause I already can't stand the Online Multiplayer anymore.

Dude, no. I played RO. What is Co-op and what's the difference between that and multiplayer?

They listed an elimination mode, which they detailed as some sort of Rainbow Six Terrorist hunt mode, but in RO2. That is, 4 buddies or so fight along to clean a map of enemies, with one life. Me and my friends were really excited about it a year ago, and I'm pretty sure it would add a lot of playtime to the game

It would be nice to do co-op RO2, but I think it would take a while to make the maps linear.

Yes, just a yes or no, and an estimated ETA or current progress would be greatly appreciated. Tho I have full confidence in TWI, I've all of their games and they never ever disappointed me (well, RO2's launch, maybe, but they've fixed it with great effort, so it's forgiven :P )

Meh, I say screw the co-op mode. Sure, it would be nice to have a scripted player vs. comp situation but it's just not worth it. Multiplayer is what brings in the sales and the huge manpower investment that a co-op story mode (which I think is what some have been describing in this thread) would require is not worth it. Furthermore, multiplayer is what brings in the replayability. Sure, there could be dynamic AI added and new set pieces and other things to make co-op awesome but it's just too large a task, especially because Tripwire has said in the past that they don't really have an experienced AI programmer. Also considering that it would hardly be replayable. Consider Left 4 Dead's co-op.

I don't think that the Co-Op will be very good either, I daresay a bit of a waste of development.
ONLY because the AI is bad. If it wasn't, Co-op might be fun. (But hell, if they made Co-Op AND improved the AI, we're all winners!) |
