$10 + $50 = $60. It is cheaper to get BF3 Premium Edition for $40. |

IMO just wait for Premium edition to hit $15 or so. Though I guess by then BF4 will be out.

That 49,90 € is so unpleasing to watch or pay...
. If they had some kind of sale for people who own BF3 already, BF2, BF:BC2...I already have BK2 as I pre-ordered it and I have no interest for Close Quarters, so I only want Armored Kill and those two I have no idea what they will bring. Why coudn't I find good games with just Armored Kill? Is there some kind of premium members only server thing going on? |

If you have AK you will find all servers running an AK map. But if the server also has CQ maps and switches... you will be kicked from the server.
In one case I was playing with a friend who didn't have B2K though the server switched to a B2K map. He played it fine for a round and then was kicked when another round started.

I figured I'd revive this thread since Aftermath DLC just came out.And I have to say I really really like it.
All 4 of the new maps are excellent, as even though they are city maps they offer lots of flanking opportunities and still have some pretty wide open areas. There are also lots of nooks to hide in, which makes ninja sneaking more possible. On the graphics side, they look fantastic as well. In general, I also think that they contain more character and personal touches in them than previous BF3 maps -- for instance there are some cool areas in some of them that feel like they are almost secret or hidden. One example is a basement area on the Epicenter map that I didn't even realize was there until the 3rd playthrough. There's also a cool detail in that basement where you can blow up a propane tank near a door and open up an access point to another part of the level. Nice little details like that. I haven't tried the Scavenger mode yet, though it sounds fun in an old-school kind of way (have to find weapons throughout the level and get very little ammo). Also, it seems that the maps work great for both conquest and squad deathmatch, though I have yet to try out rush on them yet.

So far I am liking Aftermath as well.
I agree, I actually like all of the maps in this one. They look nice and are fun. Getting to the top floor of the mall and picking off guys on the bottom as they run up the stairs is fun. Scavenger is okay, though I would prefer normal rush or conquest. Like Gun Master there are no class specializations and you don't choose or customize your gear. Though they do let you choose your default pistol so I can use my M1911 at least. The crossbow is rather boring and I wish they added more firearms instead. FN FAL and Galil anyone? At least some full auto battle rifles aside from the G3 and SCAR H would be appreciated by me. The new "battle van" is pretty fun. You can drive that upstairs into the Senate objective on that one large map (don't recall the name). The new Hummer and Vodnik are nice to, but that is all you get vehicle wise. Compared to B2K (weapons, vehicles, maps), Close Quarters (maps and weapons) and Armored Kill (maps, more vehicles) we just aren't getting as much content this time. I hope the final DLC has more weapons and vehicles like B2K had, though I am doubting it. Though I do like these maps and play them more as I get time. |

Premium edition is on sale at Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Battlefield-3-...myd_asin_block I think the new maps look really good. I coudn't find any close quarter servers, so I haven't seen them yet. |

If anyone wants to buy premium, here's my short review of the exp packs:
*Back to Karkand: 10 new weapons and 4 of the old maps remade for BF3, doesn't get better than this. These maps are superior to stock maps in every way. You can only play B2K and not miss the vanilla maps. A must have. *Close Quarters: Worth it for 10 new weapons. Maps basically involve frantic cluster****s. If you're a Metro lover they might interest you. New gamemode is interesting for a few rounds. If you're a "classic" BF player, you won't play these maps at all. *Armored Kill: No weapons, two new vehicle classes that are boring. Gunship is nothing but an annoyance. Maps look great, but don't have lasting appeal. Good if you're one those who play fly maps 24/7. The distance between objectives hurt the infantry play greatly. Gunship and aircraft spam make armoring boring and stressful. This pack should have been called "Aircraft Paradise". EVERY map has gunship/helis or/and jets. I spent more time in mobile AA going after the jets/helis than rolling in a tank. Why the hell there isn't a map without aircraft in an exp pack called "Armored Kill"? New gamemode is extremely boring. Not worth it IMO. *Aftermath: One new weapon which you will probably never use. Maps are supposedly very good, at a B2K level of enjoyment. Might be worth it. I didn't play this one much as I'm quite bored with BF3 frankly. So after all, everybody is playing Vanilla and/or B2K. CQ and AK flopped. Aftermath might get rejected by the community too. My least favorite expansion so far was AK. But I got bored of BF3 for a bit and stopped playing, though I do plan on playing the maps more again in the future. For the moment I am playing Aftermath.
Hopefully, content wise, the final expansion will be like B2K. |

I think the AK is best one by far. I really like that snow mountain map. What is the map that is supposed to be the biggest in BF?
Close Quarter maps look good, but are way too small. The whole 4 squad based dm is a good idea. The server I was playing on everyone on the team moved together, but because maps are too small it became another frag fest. Good idea, but poor execution. |

I'd have to say either AK or BtK. The last one looks heavy on hollywood esque action flick tropes, but I won't deny that it doesn't look entertaining (and hilarious) as hell.

I think the same
For me - Back to Karkand is absolutely the best! I think Aftermath was also impressive.

So just a lame motorcycle? I assume there might be a new aircraft though due to the Air Superiority game mode. That being said, Tank Superiority is extremely boring. I think this will be even worse.
