Default Chainsawing Patriarch doesn't work anymore?

I've played 3 games on Hellride on Hard difficulty and it was impossible to kill patty the typical cheap way by chainsawing him. Never had this problem before. Did they make him able to break out of the chainsaw circle or something?

It still works, you just need to be a Field Medic and playing a map with constant armor spawns...so...the firing range version of test map. >_>

lmao that was great, might also possibly work on that heresy map, it would just take about a half hour for the armor to all respawn

Yes new radial attack and it's the best thing they ever did.

I've just seen this for the first time in a suicidal game, public game, 5 support and 1 demo, the map was Hellride and we surrounded him but at least 3 players got too close and he killed them within a few seconds, thankfully he'd taken quite a bit of damage so didn't need much more to kill but I will say thanks to Tripwire as it looks fantastic in-game when he does the move.

It should still work (in theory) if you use claymores/axes/katanas and back away when he preps the attack. If not coachgun/aa12 combos ought to work just as well.

I only play on Hard/Suicidal, so I can't comment on HOE, but I think the Patty attack is a mixed bag.

For instance, Hellride six man, Suicidal, in that 'one' corridor. (You know the one.) Patty comes in all cloak like, and we light him up. He does that damn attack and takes out four guys.

What I mean to say is, that you get anwywhere within spitting distance, and you are dead. Kinda hard on the cramped maps. Sure, I thought the chainsaw manuevere (Sp.) was lame as all heck, but tbh, I'm not sure this is the best solution.

I'm sure the HOE crowd will call me out, but I think its a bit silly.

The Patriarch only does his radial attack if three or more players are within 150 units melee range (to compare, a bit less than double his normal 85 unit claw range and just a bit further than the Claymore's 110 unit reach) and he takes damage. If three or more of your teammates are within hugging range of the Patty and they're still desperately trying to plug away at him, they shouldn't be surprised if they get wiped. It probably means you were backed into a tiny corner or cramped hallway anyway. You should fight him in the wide open like real men.

If you don't want to trigger the radial attack, then follow these simple steps: suppress your urge to engage in intimate close range contact with the Patriatch at a foursome level (that is, three players and one Patty) or greater. Threesomes are fine. If you absolutely cannot avoid a close range group hug, then don't injure him. Damage is what triggers the attack. Just back up until only two or fewer players are within melee range and then continue your assault.

In the Killing Floor directory under KFmod\classes you'll find a number of .uc files. Simply open them in Notepad or similar text-viewing program. For damage in specific, check out the "*weaponname*Fire.uc" files. For additional things like headshot multipliers, check the "DamType*weaponname*.uc" files.

Oh thanks, but i already know that =)
I'm actually searching for different datas of zeds attack, like the new radial attack of the Pat.
Maybe this attack have the same damage (85 in Normal) than a classical claw attack, but the Patriarch just do it twice ?

Time for six AA-12's.

Then "the HoE crowd" can start claiming to be above that darn cheesy AA-12 spam.

I'm not all sure the condition of "and he has to take damage too" is working... He walked up cloaked to me and three other guys on IceBreaker (dark so cloak is hard to see). Not a single one of us saw him and he wiped two of us and knocked out 75% of my level 6 medic armor. I could be mistaken but I'm wondering if anyone else has had a "SURPRISE RAPE! " experiences with the new attack where he did it without taking the requisite damage that is supposed to be required (according to what I read here, and I'm not saying anyone is wrong, but there might be a bug or two... or everyone on my team lied to me :P ).
