Default Speed Hack Detected! Speed Hack Detected! Speed Hack Detected!

I was just having a great time playing the new ColdSteel beta and guess what? I got session banned after seeing that Speed Hack Detected! message over and over. Problem being, I don't speed hack and this bug has been in the game since launch. Anyone else still having this problem? Is it punkbuster that kicked me? The people who coded Punkbuster should be eating out of trash cans.

Strange, I haven't seen this issue for quite some time. Thought it was patched and fixed a while ago, and like you I've had this game since the pre-release beta.

i Have the same problem, for almost four months, and is not the Punkbuster fault.

It actually seems to happen more on custom maps than on the stock maps, I think it might have something to do with how the anti-cheat is interpreting dropped packets.

Actually, its not a bug at all. That routine is written into the program by the developers specifically to detect and nail users of Speed Hack. A session ban means the user is able to return after a round is over. At times, if you have a poor connection, dropping packets will generate a false positive for Speed Hack.

But even in servers with nobody, with 50 of ping, i still get the message and still get session banned.

i'm not sure why you think that having no players in the server with you would make your internet connection more stable.
i get this every once in a while, like once every two months or so. not enough to do a very thorough investigation. it seems like when it happens, one of my kids is on cod or dl'ing something at the time. or the tv is acting up as well, i have cable net connection and a router. either way, when it happens, i'm pretty sure it's my internet that's the problem. not the game or pb.
were you playing with stat fps on? or fraps?

Punkbuster has nothing to do with it. Its coded into the game by TW. There is even a server setting that controls whether or not the check is activated and what the punishment is if "detected". If its happening on your "favorite" server, consider asking the admins to disable it.

/sarcasm
I mean, lets face it, everyone knows that an admin is the best anti-cheat device there is.

With me, i am the only using the internet here, at night, a have played the game on medium, and when i using the Fps meter on game booster is marking 30-40, and i tried to play with nobody on a server, because when i researched, people are telling without many people, the error would´t happen.

Please read again......

A poor connection is not solely indicated by a ping rate. Therefore, a low ping does not necessarily indicate a good connection.

Things to consider for a test and remedy;
  • No packet loss - are you sure? What's happening to you appears to be a packet loss issue. UDP is the common protocol used for video games and can cause problems. Also, a bad Ethernet cable could cause the packet loss issue through transmission problems or worse, negotiating a half-duplex connection... did you change any cables as a test?
  • If you are using a router, check all settings.
  • If you have Vista, turn off remote differential compression.
  • Disable all firewalls and remote security suits and anti-virus programs.
  • If all else fails... have your ISP check their connections, lines and installation.
  • Lastly, change ISP.
In most cases, the trouble is either at the user's end or truly, a poor ISP.

That video is very shaky and looks like you have some computer or connection issues. Most likely also the cause of the speed hack detected messages. My advice is to clean up your PC and check your connection including all cables. And if you use WiFi, then stop using it and switch to a wired connection.

I'm sorry to all the German players I got killed, your sacrifice was not in vain, since that arty drop killed many of Ivan's soldiers, and after that was kicked from the server and went personally to Berlin and apologized to the German High Command.

Default Me too

I have the same problem.
I tried to look for a solution in previous forums and i tried every proposed solution. Nothing worked.
It must be a code bug and i hope tripwire is working in it.

he really does have a serious problem, doesn't he? i doubt i could even play like that. i certainly wouldn't be worried about the welcomed relief of speed-hack ban after a few minutes of that!
luis, can you post up your computer specs and tell us what kind of internet connection you have? what amount of free system resources would be good as well.

I think i forget to tell, but yes, my internet is in Wi-fi, is the only internet avaiable here in my city, but i could played the Demo version multiplayer of Cryisis 2 on high, i khow, is a diferent game with diferent code, but i don´t think is a Hardware problem, probably Wi-fi.

But i remember, something about a server configuration here:

http://forums.tripwireinteractive.co...3&postcount=26

But about the video, without recording, i can play fine with a 30 -40 frames per second, but even with recording, i happy about the speed of the game on the video, but in the begining is realy is strange, the slowdown for me only have last thirty seconds, but in the video have showed more, maybe if i have hit the recording in the menu or something.

i get speed hack detected all the time, at least 2-3 times on every single server i've ever tried.
but that's probably because i'm on 56k.
