Thats why i like maps like HospitalHorros and IceBreaker. They force you to move around and make it hard to return to your camping spot each round
I agree with what you said. I like maps that force people to find different places to hole up at, and maps that force players to constantly be on the lookout.

On a totally random note, what is your avatar picture from? Reminds me of a character from batman beyond

All the maps you said you hated, have multiple places you can hold that are less boring than the conventional easy spots. If you find the popular spots boring, don't hold there. I realize that can be hard to do in a pub game, so you might have to start a game solo or with a few friends and convince the people who join to use your new camp spot with you.

It may even be the specifications of what you deem an acceptable camp spot. They don't all have to have one boring entrance and funnel the zeds into a tight choke. Even Hospital Horrors and Ice Breaker have fun camp spots, you're not forced to kite on any of the maps - unless you're clutching or something.

Mountain pass is pretty much the only map i dislike. Maybe if a Night version came out and a Day Version of Farm were released id be more interested in playing them.

There is a night version of Mountain Pass, and let me tell you, it's a pretty kickass map compared to the daytime. While not Surburbia-level darkness, it's still pretty dark and it's bloody hard to see if specimens are coming 100meters out or more.

Dammit, now I wanna play on it again. XD

Hmm, Ill have to try that map out sometime then. As for Farm day, it is a really neat being able to see throughout the fields and the buildings from far away. I like the Farm snow too since its perfect the winter season

The problem I find with these 2 maps is getting a good team that can use a different spot.

Offices, I've seen players using the middle floor, the roof and the top floor yet in the later waves we wipe.

Bedlam, the courtyard is a nice spot to use too, up on the balcony, but again once the later waves start the team wipes.

I've yet to see either map played and won often using different spots.

Bedlam and Hospital Horrors. Don't like the dark, it's less horrifying then it is "son of a... killed by a band of gorefasts I didn't see."

I don't think the Zeds are particularly scary, save the Christmas ones, they are just unnerving for some reason...

With a good team, I've held the stairway by the second floor trader, the one that's a U shaped stairway. 3 at the top, 2 at the bottom, medic in the middle who can also provide fire support when necessary. Shotguns are particularly effective because all the Zeds are narrowed, so you really get the best bang for your buck on the penetration. As long as everyone is willing to take turns firing, then you can get a nice round robin of shotguns going.

As for Bedlam, assuming you have enough firepower, I've had good luck holding the long hallway to the left of spawn. Requires a lot of communication and a little luck. If one side of your barrier breaks, you're pretty f'ed, but again, the Zeds are narrowed into a small area, making shotguns and explosives very effective.

I like shotguns and explosives

Really? Husks sniping me from halfway across the map always get me eventually.

When I'm a lv6 berserker and I'm playing with a lv0 commando on that map on hoe and he's getting more kills than I while surviving every wave it might need a little more challenge.

Mountain Pass night version ftw!

Well maybe biotics is even easier, but still mountain pass is much slower. We made it on the biotics-lightsout on HoE with 6 players our first try and really not much of trouble. Enough supports with flashlights and its basically the same.

Mountainpass is just not a KF map and I really pity whoever the heck decided to put it ingame.

someone should make a thread about asking which map is the best killing floor map. One for its looks, one for its feel, and one for its gameplay.

People like to complain about things a lot more than they like to give praise to things. This can be observed very easily if you ever look at Craigslist rants and raves. Among a battlefield of ignorance and hate mongering will be one person saying they like something.
