Looks like steam has disabled the DL so I'm guessing they're fixing it ?

Still no word on what's going on?...
I paid 10 dollars more for the disk so I wouldn't have to spend forever downloading the thing. 2.4 gigs out of 8 is pretty poor value for a store bought game. |

I know this thread is pretty old but is there a fix to this? the ENTIRE point of buying a physical disk copy is so that I don't need to download it with my slow internet connection.
It installed 400mb of 8gb from the disk, that is stupid since I payed $40 for the game. Next time put on the games cover that you are going to force someone to download 8 ****ing GB's to play a game that should have installed from the disk.

The hardcopies are generally outdated pretty quick due to regular updates.
Personally what I always suggest is download it at some place with fast internet, and then make a steam game backup and put than on a usb stick or disc. Then you have the latest version right away, without going through the install procedure and probably having to redownload 90% of the game anyway.
