Looks like steam has disabled the DL so I'm guessing they're fixing it ?

Still no word on what's going on?...

I paid 10 dollars more for the disk so I wouldn't have to spend forever downloading the thing.

2.4 gigs out of 8 is pretty poor value for a store bought game.

I know this thread is pretty old but is there a fix to this? the ENTIRE point of buying a physical disk copy is so that I don't need to download it with my slow internet connection.
It installed 400mb of 8gb from the disk, that is stupid since I payed $40 for the game.

Next time put on the games cover that you are going to force someone to download 8 ****ing GB's to play a game that should have installed from the disk.

Keep in mind that the game has probably been updated since the disk was made and the installation needs to be updated for you to play. There has been extensive optimization and bug fixing and some content added very recently.

The hardcopies are generally outdated pretty quick due to regular updates.

Personally what I always suggest is download it at some place with fast internet, and then make a steam game backup and put than on a usb stick or disc.

Then you have the latest version right away, without going through the install procedure and probably having to redownload 90% of the game anyway.
