Default leaning?

i would really like to be able to lean while walking (definitely not while sprinting).
imo it would be very useful especially in close quarters.
while i'm at it i also demand a 'toggle lean' option

Having just stood up and tried walk-leaning, I don't see it happening, because it's extremely uncomfortable and of dubious worth in my opinion.

But yes to toggle-lean. Everything should be optionally a toggle in my opinion.

It's pretty doable, thing about leaning is that it should reduce your control of the weapon somewhat. Also agree with the toogle

With the way the characters lean (From the third person perspective), it'd look mighty odd to have them moving. They extend one foot sideways, put their weight on it and bring the top half of their body across when leaning, making them walk like that would look somewhat like a penguin.

good point some more sway while lean-walking couldn't hurt.

i didn't think of that. but there should be a way to animate it properly. it doesn't look too shabby in arma2 3rd person view for example.
i just miss the option to lean-strafe when next to a doorway or window. not a big deal, but worth a suggestion i suppose.

It kind of does look ridiculous in ArmA 2. As well as everywhere else I've seen it.

I can't say I have ever - in any game - caught myself thinking "if only I could lean and walk at the same time". You're already walking, leaning is just going to put you into an even more unstable shooting position... and if you only want it for observing things, that opens the floodgates to things like "WHY CAN'T I MOVE MY HEAD IN SIX DEGREES OF FREEDOM SO I CAN SEE UNDER/OVER/PAST X WHILE COVERING AT Y".

I certainly don't know how it will do anything to close combat other than making it super awkward. Personally I crouch-walk around sweeping my weapon around corners and down stairs, leaning wouldn't really confer any advantage as far as I'm concerned. All that matters is who shoots first, or who has the better aim.
