Really simple suggestion to give players something to do when they died in Countdown:
At the start of the match, all static MG's are manned by bots, with low accuracy. When you die, you can choose which bot to take over. You cannot leave the static MG. I think it's not ideal, but it might be better than doing nothing? Thoughts?

I prefer doing nothing. Serves the purpose of protecting, and rewarding the living. That is the purpose of countdown, reward life, punish death in a more Search and Destroy game style

Yeah I'd rather just spectate.
What Countdown needs to revive its popularity is better level design and less ability to snap off ridiculously accurate shots immediately after popping out of cover. Funnily enough, both of those things are needed by the game in general, too.

If you died in countdown, you got punished. Spectate another player and learn the game. Nowhere else can you see more skills than in CD. Players are really taking care of their lives and it's a great tactical approach to take an objective.
If MGs would be manned by bots, no matter how good, and I would get killed by a bot in CD, I would basically stab my TV... |

![]() Right now, I can't stand Countdown due to the inevitable long wait in spawn for the next round..... I also can't stand how the spawn points seem to be only a few feet away from the objective for both teams, thus very little time to setup any kind of tactic..... And the other problem I have with Countdown is that while I am now familiar with the map layouts from playing TE since late August, I don't have enough time in Countdown to familiarize myself with the objective layouts or where team mates / enemies are commonly found because I usually end up dead the moment I move out of my spawn area & usually never see where I was shot from.... then I end up waiting for several minutes while everybody else plays. I thought about it yesterday that I could load up a SP match offline with bots to get familiar with the CD layouts, but two problems come from that: #1 - I currently have a bug since the last big patch that screws up my movement in SP Campaign & Offline play, rendering those two game modes useless to play & leaving me with only online MP matches. #2 - The bots sometimes end up getting stuck in various spots of the maps, which would usually mean that if I die, I could be stuck for the remaining round time while two bots cling to a wall or trench..... popping up, then popping down, then popping up, them popping down, again and again and again....... The game mode just isn't very friendly with introducing new players to it.

let me guess, you got the idea from cs:go which simply allows you to take over bots after you die, essentially "respawning"
in short, no. However I would be in favor of "social" changes, like adding a whiteboard feature for the maps and stuff that would allow teams to plan for the next round. |

Well, guys, you already know one of the features of countdown right? If there are bots present in the server, you will take over that bot when you die. Or was that a server option?
