Indeed..... it is pretty much similar, but 20 second spawn waiting is my limit for a game. It's why I avoided RO-Warsaw back in ROCA, as it had a 45 second spawn wait, and for me, that's a bit too long.

The other thing I don't like about Countdown is the breaking of gameplay where it decides to reset all the pieces on the board each time an objective is defended/captured (ie: the players)

To each their own.

If people like Action, Realism, Classic, Countdown, FireFight, Territory, all or none of the above, that's their choice and doesn't make anybody more or less of a "Man"

As a longtime TE player, it does take a while to get used to CD mode (I speak from personal experience!). The learning curve is indeed steep...

In general I've found CD players have a higher level of skill than the average population out there. You have to be good at this game if you don't want to constantly be staring at the respawn screen.

Take grenades, for instance. On a TE map, I'd say 90% of the time if a hostile grenade lands at my feet, I run around the corner and kill the person who threw it. Immediately thereafter the grenade detonates harmlessly 15 m behind my current position (usually in another room).

But just about every time I've had a grenade land at my feet while playing CD, it detonates 0.0005 seconds later and I'm gibbed all over the walls.

That's just one example, and there are many others. But if you play CD, expect a higher level of play than in the general population out there.

Two last pieces of advice:

1) If you die a lot, don't just get impatient staring at the respawn screen. Click your mouse until you're spectating one the top scorers on your team and try to learn from what they're doing right to stay alive and score points.

2) In Realism CD mode, spawn on SL still works. This opens up all kinds of tactical options and makes it less likely that an attacking team is mowed down in their traditional spawn (so long as the SL is still alive somewhere on the map).

Really? Never seen this before and I highly doubt it's possible. How should that even work in CD?
