TWI! Thanks for Potato achievements.

I joined a regular game and danced in my chair when I heard/saw glados speak for trader time. I still need quite a few achievements but Uber Tuber was the only one that I thought that would be forever out of my reach. My floor killing friend and I occasionally seal ourselves inside glados' core around wave 7 and wait for our teammates to die. :]

I bought the 70k potato yesterday on Biotics Lab beginner with five other people. We had a level 6 berserker tank a clot at the end of a few waves while we gathered weapons. We had well over what we needed by wave five.

I was absurdly excited and still am. Thanks TWI!

I wonder. After the Potato Sack Reninion Mode is over, Can you still get the Long play achievments for aperture?

Map achievements can be earned any time. So yes, once this is over, you will still be able to get the map difficulty achievements for Aperture.

A question for you guys, how do you get the Golden Potato achievement? I just spent a long time on Aperture breaking down the door, got in, and no achievement. Is there something extra I need to do or... ?

I think you need to be in a multiplayer game with at least one person.

If you're trying for the achievement in solo make sure it's a listen server.

I also read on the steam forums that you sometimes have to walk right up to the potato and click the use key.

Took us three tries to get the Uber Tuber but we did it. And then we did it again with a different set of friends, just because we're awesome friends.

I just want to say "thank you" for doing this. The missing achievements were driving us crazy. Now we can lapse back into sanity, or whatever passes for it in our brains.

Not anymore, the event is finished now, they 'might' bring it back next year.

Ive been seeing allot of discussion on the Steam boards about this "S" program. Can't steam just de-activate your account later allong the line when find a way to track what achievement was not legitable attainted?

It's possible but I don't know how much work needs to be done to do that or what percentage of players have used it.

I did read on the steam forums that every achievement unlocked sends a 'message back home' to Valve so they know if it's been earned in-game or just unlocked with this program, if that's true then I'm sure they're well aware of how many people have used it yet they do nothing.

In my defense when it comes to SAmmy, Ive only used it to award myself with achievements for games that I did offline. Example, fallout new vegas. I would do various missions and challenges, and it would say that I got the achievement, but in reality, it didnt register it because I was playing offline. So, if its replayable, I do it again, but somethings arent replayable, or would take a LOT of time to redo, so I use sammy to give me those particular achievements that I know I did.

IMO, I think if valve ever does anything, they might just reverse all achievements that people "won" when using sammy, because too many people would complain about getting banned for something that doesnt give people any advantage to a game. And finally, the amount of time it would take to go through Support to get things fixed so that you get what achievements that you rightfully should have, would take soo long and it would be a waste of valve's time trying to figure it out for every single person. Thus, sammy helps out.
