Default Servers for new players

Hey Guys (girls if there are any). I was thinking ever since GOTY came out I've seen TONS and TONS of new players in Realism with of course an honor of at least 11-25. I was thinking, what if you guys made servers for low honor ranking players so that they can get more of a feel for the game until they can play alongside veterans. I mean this is just an idea and it could possibly be a bad one but I was wondering what you guys thought of this. Thanks

imo the new players can learn a lot from playing with veterans. some vets are very patient and give good advice to improve teamwork. if all low level players would play together without high level players present it might take longer to figure stuff out by themselves.
just compare it to rl, new recruits are put into squads with experienced soldiers to increase their survivability. if you send all newbs to the frontline by themselves they will likely be slaughtered.

True true. What about them constantly tk'ing tho? I mean I know its not their fault. I just thought servers that gave them more of a feel to the game would help them out as well. But thats just me. I appreciate your opinion tixhal

I don't think its a bad idea. It would help eliminate the feeling that you've been had by superior weapons and perks that I'm sure many newcomers get. It would let them feel they are on equal footing while learning the game.

But even with something in the name to indicate it being a new player server, I wonder if any new players would find it in the browser (unless they happen to filter by ping and the server happens to be on the first page.)

Action Mode Servers would be a good place for new players to begin... as they are seemingly the most forgiving.

Exactly. Realism in this case for a new player. Will most likely make him/her more frustrated because its DEFINITELY a new playing style. I mean when when Hardcore was realism it seemed so easy. Now with this new patch that came out, if your out in the open for even a split second you're guaranteed to either die or get wounded and die. Whereas action is as what Mike said, more forgiving.

What happened to that honour setting, which was supposed to dictate the required minimum honour level to play on a particular server?

I think it wouldn't be such a bad idea to have a novice-tier range of servers for, say, ranks 0-25 overlapping with, say, 20-50 and finally a 40-99 tier.

That way players near the top of each tier would be able to start getting the feel for a higher tier, before they are locked out of the lower tier.

It might be just my impression, and I really don't mind helping out new guys and I try to do it as much as I can, but there is a whole lot of frustration added to playing in a game in which you can have one side not only number-stacked, but also side-stacked and additionally favoured by the map-design. I imagine it's also somewhat discouraging to the new guys to come across elite opponents who know all the tricks and routes and hidey places.

This is exactly why I posted this. They don't understand the realism mechanics like we do. I tell them not to bunch up or they'll die. A good analogy to use is they're like kids with fire. If you tell them not to touch it, they'll do it anyway and they'll suffer the consequences of it.
