Default Ease of use and game integration.

In general new clans that form to play do not even bother to read the rules carefully and at max will quickly scroll through them.

Traditionally for competitive matches to play you need a multitude of things:
- mutators/mods to change the game to be suitable for competitive play
- check whether the configurational settings are correct
- start the multitude of anti cheat systems required for the perticular league
- record demos at the start of a round
- create proof and screenshots of for instance the scoreboard at the end of a round.
- go to the ladder website and click till you get at the place where you report the match.
- upload and perhaps convert your screenshots to the required format for match reporting
- fill all the required info and click submit.
- wait for your opponent to respond and accept the match.

This is the general scheme used for most websites and it simply contains of too many steps increasing the entrance bar for joining in a competition even more.

The first 10 matches of a completely fresh team are already pretty much only complete losses, against semi organized teams. Which makes it increasingly frustrating if suddenly they do win, and then find out they never made screen shots, or cannot supply the requested demo based on a cheating accusation.

Competitive play be it in a casual manner with a bunch of friends or really competitive in my opinion is the most fun way to play any game, and truly brings out what a game is worth due to obtaining proper teamwork. But there is so much base knowledge and settings needed that most people get scared off already.

That is something i am missing, like it was in the Call of Duty 4. The so called Promod was something that pushed the competitive scene fairly high up, and thanks to that they even had the bigger teams like H2K etc.

The demo record is something that is a must, werent there some cheaters in the Scorched Earth tournament?

But yeah, there are many variations that you need in a ladder, and more work on the homepage. I really liked the RoLadder cause of the easy use, and the great design! BIG UP!
