We, unlike you, are not CoD blast fest fans.

I agree. RO had a great way of balance AND realism. Choosing what you had in the class selection screen. Each option had its own pro's and con's.

Yes, you must get 25 combat days in order for me to hand out your standard-issue bayonet. Good luck!

No, they're not.

First off, the whole ranking and unlock system is broken. It offers almost nothing and you can gain what's there by bot farming. Second, all weapons and gadgets should be there and free to use for everyone to spare them some time. Having to unlock things is just restricting and stupid. Third and last, stuff like this does not belong in the Red Orchestra franchise. It's a tactical shooter that focus on realism. Unlocks, perks and alike does simply not belong and certainly not fit into the game. If you want a game with this sort of stuff you know exactly where to find it.

all of you are misinterpreting his point. I think he's referring to "attachments" as unlocks, and I fully support him. I think weapon attachments should be in game, stuff like the wire monopod, bayonets, AA sights (DD) and other stuff. What proves he was talking about attachments is he mentioned (even if we don't have to unlock them)

Weapon unlocks are used in general to motivate the players to stick to the game. Call it what you will but I call it pretty much trying to overshadow stuff in the game that is not working proplerly and is keeping people from enjoying it on its own.

Really hoping there are no unlocks in this aswell. To me it does nothing but detract from the actual gameplay. All they do is try to hook in players who don't enjoy the game to keep them playing. None of my favorite first person shooters (RtCW, CoD1, BF1942, RO1) had any unlocks, and I played so many hundreds of hours of each of them. No unlocks, no progression, no "stats". Just playing for the pure fun of it.

And we know the "classic mode" argument doesn't work because no one plays classic mode.

Could be cool to unlock "trophys" like a japanese flag tied to your rifle or stuff like that.
