I would like to start this thread to collect ideas for content that we maybe will see one day in the future of RO2. A lot of stuff hax been fixed (not everything obviously) and beside fixing more stuff I think TW will have actually some air to work on more content for RO2.
Stuff I would like to see would be more content in the future that is based on certain themes. Here a three small examples I have in mind. Battle of Kursk. A lot of guys miss maps that have a much larger scale and are basically tank maps or combined operation maps. I think the battle of kursk would be a good playground for those people. Beside new maps for those scenarios you could also bring brack troop carriers for both sides and new units like: Panzer IV Panzer V Panther Panzer VI Tiger Su-152 KV-1 Churchill Tank (Lend-Lease) AT-Guns for both weapons To keep it kind of historical accurate the german forces will have pretty much superior tanks. But the russians often were set up in very good defensive positions and also had greater numbers and especially more infantry units. Crimean Offensive. Something I would really like to see. Beside new maps (hello Sevastopol) there is also a space for the romanian forces on the axis side. This is would also be a good chance to bring on more weapons. Atm I have a bit trouble finding some solid information on the weapons the romanian forces used. So far I have only really confirmed that they used the ZB30 MG. No idea in rifles or smg's. I know they also used Kar98 rifles but not all of them. Summer Offensive Another chance to bring in more maps (also combined operation maps) and also a lot more gear for both sides. Would be a good idea to bring in some favourites of the community like the g43, mg42 and maybe even the stg44.. Please contribute in this thread what ideas you have. |

To keep it a bit in the Stalingrad part, I would definitly like to see some Maps around Operation Uranus.
Wouldn't be much new equipment, except for the romanian army, but it would feature some more open tank maps and wouldn't be so much work i guess. |

Lot of great suggestions here. With the edition of a heavier Soviet AT gun, a Kursk map could be developed now.
Where to start? Stuff we could be doing right now, because of the historicity of the tanks would be in 42/43. Like other have mentioned, getting more specific on the Stalingrad battle, would be good. If my guess is true, and the next 2 tanks are the PzIII and T70, some '41 battles could be done. Ultimately, in my RO2 fantasy-- a player could spend 2 or 3 hours in an afternoon playing a specific multiplayer, multi-map campaign, focusing on either early, mid, or late war campaigns of 3-5 maps on each that would be progressive. So, for example, the first map in the early war campaign would be the actual, inital invasion into Russia during late Summer and by the 5th map, it would be the drive on Moscow during early Winter. The 'winner' of the campaign could be the majority map winner..thus, an odd number of maps. |

I am not talking about single maps. I talk abour rather large content patches that expand the a bit limited scenario of stalingrad only to a wider area on the ostfront.

I think Operation Uranus was big enough to get a bit more than a single map from it, and it would require to include the romanian army as well, so i think it wouldn't be that small.

The Battle of Stalingrad was pretty huge. You could get a lot more maps from it, though unless you include the Romanians and Italians (which is really too much to expect at this point, but definitely viable ground for modders... if any are left) you won't see much variation in equipment beyond what we currently have (and what we currently lack, like the Pz III J and KV).
