Within the last few minutes Poland has had some really good chances if they would only pass the ball inside a bit more... I don't understand these wild shots that go 15 feet above the goal off into nowhere.

I like how both teams are really attacking and not hanging around mid-field being boring. Exciting match

SheepDip: check out the 1st page for the video (provided it wasn't taken down). Basically, some drunk Russians beat up some stewards at the Wrocław stadium after the Rus-Cze game; a lot of controversy was generated.

That video was the direct context for this tournament, but then there is — naturally — the historical context (we Poles like our history just like our Warhammer 40k — grim and dark), which is just too lengthy to go into.

Anyways, I think it was a really great game. It might have been the second game of my national team in the last 15 or so years which I really enjoyed (the previous one being the friendly Poland-Germany game that they played for the opening of the Gdańsk Arena stadium). I hate to say it, but I am really hopeful for the last game.

The Czech's match was also a really good game to watch. I say we have a fantastic game in the brew.

I'm really embarrassed with the behaviour of groups of bandits that attacked the Russian group that headed towards the National Stadium and I completely don't understand our riot police that allowed the clash last so long (or happen in the first place). I've read those bandits even tried to force their way to fan zone later on. "Police line separates the [masked] bandits from the fan zone(...)" (rough translation of one of the internet articles). All they can do is to separate them from the true fans - the good guys? Why didn't they apprehend them all, goddamit? It wouldn't be a problem for them to arrest the right guys as most of them had their faces covered with either scarfs or masks. Sheez. About one hundred people were arrested, both Poles and Russians. 10 people wounded. I can't believe it.
How can it be that a handful of idiots, on some kind of a sick vendetta for the Wrocław incident, can spoil the fun of thousands of normal people who want to enjoy the show? And I bet, that all the international media will remember from the Euro'12, is this single incident. That's how Poland will be pictured. And I can't blame them for such thinking.
This is very sad to me as we should be known for our traditional Polish hospitality.

The match was very exciting on the other hand. There were times when I thought I'll get a heart attack. Luckily Błaszczykowski shot us a beautiful goal the led to a draw. I didn't like Russian defence fouling Lewandowski every time he received the ball (mostly in the first half). Not nice. No.
I thought we could win the match as the Russians appeared to have completely ran out of steam during the whole second half and we had several good occasions to score, but unfortunately... we didn't.
Go Poland!

Nah... don't worry. Sure, there will be some focus on that, but I don't think that's the main thing people will remember. There have been so many great games in this tournament already, the stadiums seem to be very good as well, most of the fans also seem to be in very good spirits. Those are the things this tournament will be remembered for and those few idiots fighting on the streets will soon be forgotten.

I am also slightly embarrassed, but I knew it would play out like this. Putin's cronies wrote the script, as always, and so far it's been playing out very much to their expectations. I am glad the escalation was not greater than it was, it should have shot down Kreml's propaganda stunt, but sadly most German and Russian newspapers I've looked through have already obediently taken the bait and are focusing, imho, on the bandits. BBC may have been the only agency to report the broader context for this, including Friday on Wrocław stadium.
Now it's time for Act 2: Putinjugend giving out red cards in front of the Polish embassy in Moscow and somehow trying to make this into a criticism of the Polish state. Well played, well played, KGB.

The sadest thing was our hools took the bait (or maybe someone helped them; I've seen a lot of footie supporters' leaders denounce this behaviour and urge people not to take the bait).

Well played Germany, well played.

Van Persie's goal was beautiful, if we could only get more of those
