Default Connection problems leading to false 'speed hack' messages

I've tried looking for an answer to this problem throughout several forums including this one but have had no luck as regards finding a solution. Basically whenever I join a game my ping could be as low as 30 but for some reason I get random lag spikes which cause my character to jump and then I get several 'speed hack detected' messages and am usually kicked from the server within a matter of minutes and this seems to be happening on nearly every single server I join now. My internet connections at about 30mb/s and I've never had any problems playing any other game online so I'm just curious as to whats going on here and would really like a solution because I absolutely love the game but am finding it increasingly difficult to play for more than five minutes before I'm kicked for 'hacking'.

it's punkbuster. see if you have the newest version. if it still keeps doing it, find servers that arent running it. are you hooked straight to a modem or wifi?

this continues to happen to me too, fast connection, banned from servers, and it's only been 2 days since purchase. happens on wifi or ethernet. when asked, nobody in the server at any given time experiences the issue except me. i wouldnt even call them connection problems, as the ping is below 20 and stays below when monitored. am i supposed to play non-punkbuster servers forever? what other information can i provide that might help?

I'm on wifi and I looked into updating my punkbuster only to find that apparently, steam never bothered their arses having it so punkbuster is properly installed and updated with the game because punkbusters setup told me that it wasn't present in the game directory, let alone updated. Haven't played the game since fixing the punkbuster thing yet so I dunno if the problems solved now or not but I'll post again later with the results!

Nope, it hasn't made any difference. Still getting kicked from games due to 'speed hacking'. Somehow I get the feeling steam's to blame though....

Try it with a wired connection and not with a wifi connection. Wifi connections sometimes can cause packet drops due to external electronic devices (e.g. microwave, passing cars and motor cycles).

Default I have the same problem.

I have the same problem.
Forums are full of people having this issue.

I am looking for a solution since one week ago. I have tried every solution answered in forums, PB disabled, PB updated, wired instead WIFI....
But no one works and the fact is that i have never had any problems with other games with the same conditions (PB, WiFi) so it must be a RO2 code problem.

Nobody has reached a solution?

This may be a longshot but the problem wouldn't happen to be specifically to people who bought the game on steam would it? If anyone's having this problem and hasn't bought the game on steam please tell me so we can at least rule another thing out, also if you got it off steam and your having the problem that would be useful information in getting us a step closer to at least finding the cause of the problem.

I would try this http://www.martin-majowski.de/wlanoptimizer/ and if you are wired, disable any un needed wireless devices. http://compnetworking.about.com/od/w...ndisenable.htm

Thank you. I tried but it doesn´t work. It seems as it will be impossible and Tripware is not interested about to solve the problem ¿¿?? .

I don´t understand it because i have found many people in forums with the same problem without a solution to fix it.

Most all of us have seen this anomaly at one time or another.... While I do not believe its PB's fault... all avenues leading to the cause should be explored.

This needs to be fixed. Pronto.

I hope this will be fixed soon. There is a risk about many gamers loose their interest.

Dammit... I just started getting this bug as well, which is extremely strange because I had been playing normally from beta release until today.

The only change I made was switching from a Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS to my onboard Realtek sound because my sound card died. I have no idea how that could cause this bug, or if it is even related, but there seems to be a correlation.

I really hope there is some solution to this, RO2 is pretty much the only multiplayer game I play anymore and I'd hate to lose it to some odd bug.

Make sure you are using the latest v270 32/64 bit drivers from Realtek and... that all Creative Drivers and support software are completely removed from the system and registry.

Thanks for the advice, but it turns out my ISP is just having problems. Seems lightning struck one of their boxes on the other side of my mountain.
