Default 'For Greater Glory' (2012)

Good movie about the struggle for religious freedom in Mexico during the late 1920's called the Cristero War.

Try and see it in the movie theaters right away (here in the States) because it will get replaced real quickly by the summer blockbusters:

I also want to recommend the documentary 'The Storm That Swept Mexico' which was shown recently on PBS in the U.S.

It focuses more on the earlier Zapata and "Pancho" Villa time period (1910s).

Watch for a rebroadcast sometime on your local PBS stations.

" 'The Storm That Swept Mexico' incorporates photographs and motion pictures from the earliest days of cinema. Much of this material has never been seen before by North American and international audiences.

The first hour, "The Tiger is Unleashed," charts the struggle by Francisco I. Madero and his followers to end the dictatorship of Porfirio Díaz, and traces the emergence of two remarkable rebel leaders: Emiliano Zapata and General Francisco "Pancho" Villa. But the Revolution was not merely an internal affair; it was an international event, profoundly influenced by U.S. and European foreign policy."

Going to have to take a look. My roommate's grandfather actually fought for Pancho Villa.

As for Diaz being the good guy, I think that would depend on who you ask
