Too bad, but he is the only one left who wants to continue to work on this.

Thank you!

This mod is going to be finished, if not with a existing team, then with a new one.

Thank you for your work Kaminski!

Best regards,

OK I know this is just a scratch at the surface, but here's a start at a player/character model, this fellow has the m 1907 tunic, it still needs a fair bit of work, but we'll get there if we can get more help, just myself and BlitzK_bob at the moment.

Our idea is to get some working character models is game as soon as possible, first British and German use the same bolt action weapons and the Maxim MG, which we'll modify, that are already in game. Later character models will include the French, the Russians and possibly the Americans.

As regards maps, we're talking about modifying the old Danzig map and making it an early war Belgian townscape map, obviously, trench maps will come later, but initially we'll revive the Danzig map to start off with.

If anyone would like to help, please lets hear from you either post here or PM me or Bob. looking forward to hearing from any helpers.

Well VietViking, you stummbled across one of my thoughts on this, eventually we'll make a Vimy Ridge map for British Empire forces, but that's a long way off, other map ideas include something based on Tannenburg for the Russians, Chemin Des Dames for the French and a Gallipoli based map for Anzacs and Turks, as well as standard trench raid maps.

However, these are ideas that are a long way off, we need more team members especially good mappers. Here's some info on Vimy.

The Battle of Vimy Ridge was a military engagement fought primarily as part of the Battle of Arras, in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region of France, during the First World War. The main combatants were the Canadian Corps, of four divisions, against three divisions of the German Sixth Army. The battle, which took place from 9 to 12 April 1917, was part of the opening phase of the British-led Battle of Arras, a diversionary attack for the French Nivelle Offensive.
The objective of the Canadian Corps was to take control of the German-held high ground along an escarpment at the northernmost end of the Arras Offensive. This would ensure that the southern flank could advance without suffering German enfilade fire. Supported by a creeping barrage, the Canadian Corps captured most of the ridge during the first day of the attack. The town of Thélus fell during the second day of the attack, as did the crest of the ridge once the Canadian Corps overcame a salient of considerable German resistance. The final objective, a fortified knoll located outside the town of Givenchy-en-Gohelle, fell to the Canadian Corps on 12 April. The German forces then retreated to the OppyMéricourt line.
Historians attribute the success of the Canadian Corps in capturing the ridge to a mixture of technical and tactical innovation, meticulous planning, powerful artillery support and extensive training, as well as the failure of the German Sixth Army to properly apply the new German defensive doctrine. The battle was the first occasion when all four divisions of the Canadian Expeditionary Force participated in a battle together and thus became a Canadian nationalistic symbol of achievement and sacrifice. A 100 ha (250 acres) portion of the former battleground serves as a preserved memorial park and site of the Canadian National Vimy Memorial

Just been working up the model for the M1916 German Stahlhelm this morning, trying to get the shape just right before I texture it up, I'll probably be making the Pickelhaub helmet with cover for the first map which will be based on an early war encounter. Anyway, here's a screen of the model and an original m1916 beside it for reference purposes.

That helmet topology is terrible my friend. We are better off using RO2's default.
You player looks nice, but it's a little low quality.

I would like to work in this mod, but how many people are we now?

To make an easy start we should focus on doing German vs British or German vs Frenches. I would much rather add Frenches first.

Just found this little beauty as a free download, its a British MkIV Female tank, got the textures too, so it should be good to go as a battlefield prop for starters.

Here's a little more detail on our German player character. Still loads to do on this model but slowly getting there.

I think your model looks great, good job.

If the first goal is just to swap out character meshes which is a good goal since no mod team has reached anything besides maps yet, and since ww1 was fought with bolt action and the game already has bolt action, but in a well made map and boom.
