Yeah but what makes the map good in Battlefield (not so great in bf3 btw) was that it was very dynamic because you were not restriced only using the island itself for attacking or defending. You could approach by the sea and also from the sky. If i watch back that was what made the map great in BF1942.

Agreed, but I'm not thinking BF1942 here at all. I am thinking the actual Wake island in Rising Storm style. That itself could prove to be a cool map.

Maybe but It would probably not be very authentic. Could still be fun but it would not be a authentic map.

Umm the forest wasn't thick because BF1942 came out in 2002. It was limited.

The RO2 Wake Island map would probably focus on the Japanese landings.

Yeah but if you check the actual battle "on the island" it does not make a good scenario for a map. At least not if you want to keep it authentic.
