I'm afraid not. There are four servers in the beta, two are running classic and two are older versions that you wont be able to use (hence why they are not shown on the in-game server browser).

We wont be able to test all the gooey additions to the Realism mode.

Which is, to put it bluntly, stupid that we can't.

Not to burst anyone's bubble, but it probably honestly doesn't matter, I'm sure the two populated servers will be running classic, so I'd rather all the bugs ironed out of that.

All of the realism only changes were tested in earlier parts of the beta. All the current changes (even those that are in realism) are also in classic so it is easy to test them out in one mode.

I know of one notable exception from the latest beta patch:

http://forums.tripwireinteractive.co...53&postcount=1

For example:
Quote:
General
  • Added the ability to select a weapon upgrade in the class selection menu rather than always spawning with the highest unlocked version. This change only applies to servers running normal, realism, or custom with bClassicWeaponLoadout=FALSE.
You can't test this in the Classic beta servers because Classic mode disables upgrades already. Am I wrong??? This change appears after all the beta servers were already running only Classic, not before.

I think it is somewhat likely that at least one regularly populous server will rather be running a "custom" setup rather than 100% classic. I think there are enough people playing the game that are not totally happy with changes that Classic brings to support one or two servers to run realism mode, or at least a custom mode weighted more towards Realism than Classic. I for one prefer Realism to Classic and I daresay I'm nowhere near alone.
