Hi everbody,
I've been playing both RO and DH without problems for a while now. However, after the latest DH update I had problems connecting to servers. Soon I found out that this problem affects both DH and RO, so I un- and reinstalled both - but in vain. If I try to connect to a server whose map I already have, I join the server, I hear people talking and see messages for a few seconds - and then the game freezes. Or, at least the action freezes, I'm still able to exit the server properly via the menu. If I try to connect to a server whose map I do not have yet, the game tries to download the map (or other data packages), but aborts this after a few seconds and then remains "forever" with the "Connecting..." (or i my Version " Verbindung herstellen...") screen. Even waiting for dozens of minutes doesn't change anything. Aborting via F10 however is still possible... If tried out this here, as it sounded like my problem, but it didn't change anything: Quote:
I hope you can help me somehow. lalucre |

could you perhaps try to delete both your ro and dh system folder. Then after doing that and redownloading those folders start RO first and then DH.

ok, I deleted the two system folders, and then checked the game cache via steam to download them again;
unfortunately, it didn't help... I had the same problems as before when trying to join a RO server; in DH then I had the DHGermanCharactersTex.utx problem, and deleted the DHGermanCharactersTex.det_utx file - however, joining a server was still impossible... If you have DH named files in your RO directories move them to the DH directories. |

little update on my situation
After weeks in which i was unable to play DH, I set up my laptop at my parents house. Without changing anything I tried out the game - and it worked. I could play for a few days. Back in my own apartment - it didn't work again. According to my logic, the problem has to be with my router/modem. It's a THOMSON TG585 v7, and for hours I've tried to open some ports Quote:
Is there anyone with knowledge about Thomson routers? |

I've got the same router (THOMSON TG585 v7) and I can't play either.
Please assist if possible. |

OK guys, I found the solution and I will write it here and in a separate thread.
Quoting myself (lol no, I'm not Ceasar): Quote:
