Default Beta schedule?

Hi,

what's the schedule for the beta?
Are you going to release the successfully tested beta stuff (e.g. the new map or the RO Classic mode) bit by bit for the regular RO2? If you do so, we could play the new stuff as early as possible.
Or are you going to wait till everything that is mentioned in the sticky is implented and tested and release a mega patch in a few months?

Regards,

No0dle

my guess is they implement all the stuff mentioned in the "what are we up to -refinements edition" in the beta, and when all works well release a big patch. it may take i while.

I guess the same, which is why I'm done with this game ... I've been told that they want to wait till May to release the stuff like RO Classics and the new map for the regular RO2 ... sorry, but this game is out for 7 months and nothing really changed. No new content, competetive gaming is a joke (too many stuff that doesn't work) and this game is still a bugfest. They may have fixed some minor bugs, but created even worse ones (Squad leader spawn without smoke, people falling through maps, ...) I'm sick of being an alpha tester ... many others have already left the RO scene months ago and so will I ...

I may return when they implented all the stuff they promised and wiped out the important bugs (so maybe 2014/15, but most likely never ...), but for now this game is dead for me.
And the worst thing is not even this crappy bugfest of a game, it's the devs ignoring any kind of criticism or questions like this which could lead to answers the community might not like.

I mean, look at the beta forums ... nobody gives a **** about the beta and nobody believes in the devs anymore (except for a very, very small amount of people). The general interest in the beta euqals zero ...

And now give me my infraction, call me a troll and close this thread ... or give me a proper answer and inform the community about your plans ...

understandable. i don't care too much and will continue to play anyway because i really like the game and am sort of bug-resistant. i've played games in worse shape before.
take a break, play some other stuff and maybe check the forum once in a while to see if things got better.
the promised changes/improvements will probably come, rather later than sooner, but i'm willing to stick around.
the low interest in the beta really is a bummer, directly after an update there are several people online to get some decent matches going but most of the time it's a ghost town.

Signed. Besides that, the beta is already as horrible as the released version: Noone playing and bots on the servers.

I downloaded the beta, but… there isn’t much too really test IMO as I’m only waiting for the Classic mode.

Since you have (more) bots on the few betaservers I count less people than beforehand (with no bots around) during peak-times.
There is something about bots that scares away players that are looking for a populated server.

i think this one will have the same flaws as arma2, since it uses the same engine. i don't expect it to be the holy grail of ww2 games. i like arma2 but it is far from perfect even years after release.

We've mentioned this before several times. As refinements get ironed out and bug fixes work out they will probably make it out the door before any large update.

The large update at the end of the beta will likely include Classic and Mamayev and any addition refinements/bug fixes that do not make it out sooner.

Alright, thanks for your response, it's appreciated ... even a though a (very rough) time schedule would be desirabale ... there's rumor that you plan to wait till May to release the large update, but I really can't image why you would want to wait so long to release the Classic mode and the new map since a lot of people are waiting eagerly for it.
For me it seems that you guys are doing too much stuff with too few manpower, so it takes much too long for anything to happen which is very, very frustrating. Let's be honest: in the last 7 months nothing really changed which is to my mind the main reason why all the people leave the RO2 scene.

And sorry for my harsh tone, but at least I got some attention now.

Nevertheless, I'm signing out to play other stuff, but please make me come back by fixing the flaws of the regular RO2 (soon) ...

Yeah, of course. I have no desire to shoot all the lemming bots. The bots are certainly better than in previous games, but they are still somewhat dull.

I have absolutely no need for bots or singleplayer game modes that are based on bots. And obviously many other people think the same.

Totally agree.

Of course, the beta servers are empty most of the time, because the interest in the beta is pretty much non-existant, but I really can't understand why Tripwire doesn't organise regular beta testing evenings, e.g. after a new beta update.
Like that you could easily fill the server with at least 30-40 players.
But nobody wants to play against bots in the beta, because 99% of the players who usually play against bots only do so, because they want to level up fast and are not good enough to keep up with other human players ... but of course they don't care about their beta level, they prefer to botfarm in the regular RO2 ...
