Hey Wolverine!

First thanks for mention me in the credits !

Congratulation for your first release of that great map. We all know how much blood sweat and tears you put into this one. Especially your optimising work is realy remarkable and for that reason you could boost the viewdistance and some details a little (or little more ).

But I suggest that first you should concentrate on adding stuff which affect the gameplay (covernodes, destroyable fences & powerpylons) before doing the cosmetic things.

So when these things work, you could ask Rammjaeger for posting an event on the steamgroup so we can test the balancing on a full server.

While we did that little test yesterday, i also thought it couldnīt hurt to increase the time which it takes to capture an objective if that is possible. These are whole villages and not little objectives like on the stock maps.

Next thing, which is a personel wish is, that you could replace some of that big rockformations with for infantry walkable forests with some trenches or foxholes. Right now, if you play as an russian infantry man you have to walk around these to get for example to objective C. And there is so little cover right now. And some grainfields and hedgerows like on ogledow and more surface irregularities craters and trenchlines on the flat fields would fit perfectly to your map in my opinion.

About lighting. I also think, that the lightning could be improved. I think some grey Clouds and stormy weather (with some atmospheric windy sound and Animations for vegetation) would fit better. Like on the Univermag.... not so much clouds, but i like it what the other guys think of that?

But,.... i know that you canīt do everything for everybody. I am convinced that you have also tons of great ideas. So first add things you like!

Edit: BtW,.. did you find out whats the cause of that shaking when you zoom with the ironsights? never saw that bug on other custom maps.

Regards Culti

I think the fog is too thick, the strong sunlight shown in the last screenie does look a bit off when you have such foggy weather

Well done.
Map is up and running on our server rotation now.
Need some halftracks or jeeps for jeep jousting.
Will test it out

It's playing pretty well, but the tank crewman spawning seems bugged. I don't know if it's a map issue or a general issue with the tanks in the game.

Basically if you are infantry and then you try to change role and go as a crewman, you just end up waiting to spawn over and over again.

But if you spawn as a crewman at beginning of the round, you are ok after that as long as you dont choose a spawn when your tank is destroyed. Just wait for your commander to choose a spawn and you will spawn with. Again this could just be me being thick as this if first time ive played in a tank map.

I am enjoying it though

One of our guys asked if you could make the small wooden fences destructible or something so you can drive over them as you end up getting stuck on them.

EDIT: Just saw your change log

My name is in the credits, even though I did nothing. Wooooooooo! Yes, praise me, RO2 community!

But to comment on the map, I think the ground is a bit too saturated with red; at the moment, it looks kind some kind of American landscape on my monitor; I think it would look much better if it were a darker and duller shade of brown. But maybe that's just me.

I think Gotens idea last night having infantry spawn much closer was good - it would certainly keep them far happier and more interested I believe

Concessions for Infantry?? Why? This is war!!

We had 10 -14 players most of the day..... I heard not one complaint about distance.

I've had some nice tanking action tonight on this map. It's great. I have never really enjoyed tanking as much as I did tonight on Arad. Good job. Now if only there were some APC's available for the infantry...

Good idea! Perhaps someting like this would fit better to that landscape. But i mean just for the areas around and in the villages and not the open fields. The groundtexture there is good in my opinion.

Thank you guys so much, for all the comments and feed back. Its truly appreciated. Makes it easier to work on a map, when theres support for it. Hopefully with the help of the community this will turn into a great map.

So once again thanks!

But yeah, just my opinion.
I agree about the sound. It will be improved for beta 2

However, from the video it actually looks rather nice and perhaps it plays a bit differently with ROHOS' gameplay. I shall have to give it a whirl.

Just please don't follow it up with a release of Aradrealforest

Actually I'm planning a Arad8675309_l33tpwnjOOnubs version

Should be there for you in beta2

Other than that, the map is well done and large enough for epic tank battles.
Ive redone the fog and ill have some destructible things for you to blow up

Ill be adding more and more things in as long as the fps dont suffer.
as far as the rocks and forest thing, to be honest...i don't want it to turn into BF3 camp fest map. everyone and their mother will end up up there wanting to snipe. so I'm really sorry, but ill have to stay away from that.

everything else, will depend on fps.

Agree 100%! already fixed

Once again thanks to everyone for all the support, i appreciate you all adding it to your servers. Please keep the feedback coming.

I just hope TWI will find a solution for the custom maps not working properly on some servers.

otherwise i don't see the custom stuff going very far.
