Actually rockets are great. If the map is gonna end soon and you dont have time for the clock to run out to another available strike then call those rockets, it will decimate an area. Also if there is a pocket of resistance that is just being stubborn, then rockets will usually eliminate everyone and you know there is only one salve so it is easy to move in and cap. Also rockets are not nearly affected by cover as mortars or Howitzers are. you can't hide in a trench or bldg from rockets.

So rockets are a great tool to have for the TL to use to force the map in your favor.

With all due respect to Edwin Starr, they actually are good for something. The rockets trade off area denial for immediate strength. The howitzers take four salvos to deliver as many shots as the rockets fire all at once. You can sweep a point clean with rockets and immediately move in before the people killed by the rockets get a chance to respawn.

Rockets are also more likely to kill the enemy team's good players. If attentive players aren't hit by the very first howitzer salvo, they'll probably get to safety before the second one comes in, and they definitely won't walk into the artillery fire once it's been going a while. Rockets, on the other hand, don't give the enemy any opportunity to escape.

especially useful on commissars if you can get the panzer 4 distracted and the rest of the team to not walk into the barrage

Another favorite: Right off the bat on Red October, on A (Finished goods?), by the time it's over the Germans didn't have a chance to take up positions and the Russians are on the doorstep.
