Default Moral dilemma: Retail or Steam??

Would you but retail or Steam?

Apart from the CD/Box rhetoric, what I see is a dilemma.

I want the game and I also want the developers to have as much of a return as possible for their efforts yet , on the other hand , I would like to reward Destineer Publishing for taking a risk on Red Orchestra:Ostfront by agreeing to package and retail it , which should enhance it’s exposure and thus the player base.

What to do!!

What to do!!

I'll use Steam, since buying the boxed version means I have to wait for my parents to agree to drive me to the mall. Plus it means one less box and disk laying around. No dilemma for me.

Where is the both option? >.<

I will get them both, steam because it's faster to get and box cause I want it on my shelf.

RO is the only game I would ever concider purchasing twice but I see it as my chance to give the team some money (and sales ratings ) for the endless hours I have played this game since 2003

Im going retail, mainly cause im sceptical of downloading games. Plus having a box and CD is much better.

lack of credit card + lack of parents willing to let me borrow their credit card (not surprisingly) = retail version

Anyway, I guess I'll get the boxed version, just because it is RO.

I'll probably get the boxed version because the internet is Satan.

Steam of course. Tripwire will probably get more $$ from sales through Steam(nothing else would make sense really).
Its probably cheaper to buy it through Steam as well.
Retailers adds 40-70% to the price when they get it from the distributors.
So unless im mistaken:
With Steam, Tripwire and Valve gets $$ from the sale. The distribution itself is cheaper and more effective, so it SHOULD be cheaper for the consumers this way.
With a retail, Tripwire, Bold Games and the retail stores will all have a piece of the cake....this will mean less for Tripwire, and probably more for us to pay as well.

So from every point of view, Steam is the best sollution for me. We have to use it to play the game anyway.....

Crazy people buying 3 copies. What if you end up hating the game?

I'll buy one copy and most likely it will be on steam. Depending on the release dates...

Same here.

I'll just write the game to DVD as a backup.

One thing about getting it boxed is you can get more for it when/if you sell it

I will buy the retail version because I don't own a creditcard nor may I use one of my parents.
And I want to physically own the game, in my DVD-rack...

And I'll buy Ostfront as birthday gifts for my friends.

I guess for many players in my country(Russia) boxed version will be perfect variant...I guess reasons are same-lack of credit card+low download speed.
Btw will RO boxed version be available in our country same time as it will in Europe ? We have excellent online shops like Gamepost?but sometimes they dilever products up to 2 weeks or so...

At least four retail boxed sets for me and my mates, its much easier for us this way.Even though I like the steam program and its easy update feature as used in DoDs and Css.

I'll use Steam. Worked great when I bought DOD:S, besides of course the game being crap.

I'll be getting 3 copies I think. One through steam, one boxed, and another box to dip in bronze and put on my RO shrine.
