If you're reading this, you're probably familiar with the Summer Sideshow event by now, and if you're familiar with the Summer Sideshow event by now, you're probably also familiar with the wacky trailer that extolled the five IJC weapons and the new Hellride map and such. However, in that same trailer, there was another short but notable bit meriting of attention: the mention of the "Pop-The-Clot Shooting Gallery". According to the trailer, it's placed right next to the entrance of Hellride:
![]() I assumed, as I imagine most others did, that this shooting gallery would be part of the new map. Unfortunately, as is obvious by now, the shooting gallery is no where to be seen in Hellride. And although it would seem to be the second likely candidate, the shooting gallery isn't in the map Abusement Park either as that level wasn't even updated in the patch. And no, it's not secretly hidden somewhere else. I've checked. So what's the deal? This mystery has certainly piqued my interest. We've explicitly been told about the shooting gallery, but it's completely MIA. Is there more to the Summer Sideshow event that we'll get later on? Or is it dead in the water for some reason? Now before you say "they made that shooting gallery just for advertisement purposes in the trailer", I invite you to take a look at this screenshot of a particular area in the current Abusement Park map located straight ahead from spawn: ![]() Comparing with the second trailer image above, you can see the same red tower with door on the right, the same building with arched windows on the left, heck, you can even see the ground is covered with the same leaves. I'd say this is definitely the same area where we see the shooting gallery and Hellride entrance in the trailer! Ergo, it's supposed to be in Abusement Park. But that's not all! I was browsing through the new Hellride files and saw this texture: ![]() "Abusement_Park_New_Signs", eh? Well if I didn't know better, I'd say these new signs are supposed to be in the shooting gallery which is supposed to be in Abusement Park! There are a few extra things in the files as well, but I suppose I won't spoil those quite yet, assuming they will indeed appear in time.

I was wondering about this myself. Sure hope they show up, would love to shoot some clot skulls while the rest of the team carries the wave.

I spent hours with a friend yesterday looking for this apparent shooting range. I searched both Abusement Park and Hellride in the Killing Floor SDK and found no secret area. It simply does not exist...Yet? Stop trolling us Tripwire!

Good find Slappy. Hope the shooting gallery makes an appearance. Was anybody else slightly disappointed when they couldn't jump in the carriages and actually ride this thing?!

They're just doing all these things to see how you'll react Slappy.
They're probably just as intrigued by what you manage to find in the files as we are.But I was always a bit curious about this. I think you see that section on four separate occasions in the trailer (if you count the last few seconds of the trailer as well, which should be that very same spot), yet it's nowhere to be found in the actual map. It kind of feels like there's something to it, if it turned out to be something that they had to cut out in the last second it would be a bit odd to feature it so prominently in the trailer. Just as the trailer was released I was also a bit surprised that they showed so many scenes from Abusement Park, I don't think they've ever shown an "old" map in any of these sideshow event trailers before. But I could just be reading too much into it, who knows. |

That would be neat. If it happened automatically during trader time, it'd make a nice transport over to the trader, without the potential for exploits from manual use during waves.

Ok.
The dancing siren. I'm not sure if I was turned on, disgusted, or laughing. Maybe a little of all three.

I'm wondering one thing. If you get the Punk'd achievement, but didn't got all the achievements, do you still keep Steampunk Mr. Foster?

i already have the achievement but does the shooting gallery count towards the Dot of Doom achieve? if so, it should be braindead easy now.
and i see the two existing wall glitches still exist.. |

Saw a few other major differences, beyond the Clot Shooting Gallery/Hellride entry/Mechanical Dancing Man:
1. The various signs around the park have been (mostly) replaced. The old signs, which used to have old carny lingo and a specific telling one saying 'will she live or die, you decide tonight' (probably relating to the trader) have been replaced with signs related to the circus specimens specificly. Perhaps a hint that they'll be staying for a extended tour after the sideshow's packed up, or just to make it more topical to the Sideshow event? 2. The two 'classic' Crawler and Classic Fleshpound head gracing the big top's entry has been replaced with Pukey the Clown's. |
