How could a lv.6 support take out a scrake efficiently? I usually let the sharps take them, but if there is no other option, and I need to take out a scrake? Anyone have any good tactics to kill one fast?

With HuntingShotgun
Killing Floor - Katana+Hunting Shotgun vs. Scrake - YouTube With AA12 Killing Floor - Scrake vs AA12 Auto Shotgun - YouTube With Combat Shotgun Killing Floor Tutorial Combat Shotgun Vs Scrake - YouTube With Pump Shotgun Killing Floor - Scrake vs Pump Shotgun - YouTube These will all work on 6man health, Hell on Earth Scrakes. Scrakes with less health can be taken down exactly the same, but on lower difficulties it can be unnecessary and can just be taken down with conventional shotgun fire. Well i think it will not get you killed, but its really waste of ammo. Maybe it can kill that way if you are out of ammo.

If you have sharpshooter on your team, then you really should leave scrakes to him. Depends how many scrakes and how many can sharp handle. If you have two scrakes coming from different directions you can take out the other one.

Edit: My steam name is the same as my user name on here, and you're welcome to add me to your steams list so we can own some scrakes together. Last edited by bstm300; 07-05-2012 at 09:17 AM. |

I'd actually argue for Xbow sharps vs FPs on higher levels ONLY if you have a team which you play with a lot and have good communication. Two Xbow shots are hell easy to land on a FP and take him down over half his health. If you can get eg a demo with LAW to shoot him once, he's dead very quickly and very very easily. ALso, I'd argue that at most you should have 3 players dealing with FPs at a time. If everyone's emptying their weapons into him then a) I presume you wouldn't use this tactic if there were multiple entrances to the holdout point, but if there are it's immediately TERRIBLE b) no one's shooting the zeds around him, meaning the FP goes down but the 3 gorefasts around him are in your grilll, and c) everyone's either got an empty mag or a low mag, making point b) a bigger problem. I'd personally just get 1-2 people to deal with him and everyone else carries on with what they're doing. |

This has gotten a little off topic. Anyhow, Fleshpounds should always be dealt with as safely as possible, and that is without having them hit anybody. They can one hit kill you sometimes - why risk taking damage at all. The methods I've seen posted here so far all revolve around - have 2-3 or more teammates point their weapons at the fp, perhaps with a tanking medic, and hold m1 until the fp is dead.
That is not an ideal method. It works, but it lets the fleshpound act as a tank while the other specimens close in if everyone focuses on it, sometimes the medic is out of position - its risky in general. There are certain ways to kill fleshpounds easiliy - demolitions perk is even catered towards this. If you have one player who can safely remove the fleshpound, and if you can afford it, maybe one more who knows how to assist in the combo, it will always be very efficient and quick. You won't get overrun while everyone shoots at the same target. Here is a video of what I think are some of the easiest in-game combos to pull off when you encounter a fleshpound: Killing Floor - Basic Fleshpound Removal - YouTube |
