Default Rapid Assault - WW2 Online Tactical Shooter

The guys that made WWII Online are/have been working on a similar game and launched a kickstarter campaign.

Looks like a more accessible WW2OL, even the HUD looks the same. It looks interesting, though.

I understand the scale and under-the-hood mechanics of WW2OL kept it from looking like a AAA title but I'm hoping they can squeeze a bit more eye candy into this one here further on in the development process.

I hate saying this as I'm definitely a gameplay over graphics kind of guy but the potential is good and I like to see a more aesthetically polished result after it's all said and done.

Might donate via Kickstarter.

Well one of the goals of the Kickstarter is to improve graphics:

Quote:
Why do we need the money?

Art Content- Many of our terrain objects like buildings and cultural objects are leftovers from previous game projects and aren't up to our standard for a modern PC game. We plan on combining in-house talent with some outside contractors to upgrade or replace many of the game objects.

Infantry Animations- We have a pretty limited set of 3rd person infantry animations. We have the state engine to support many new animations like duck, jump and climb and we need talent and treasure to make it happen.

Sorry, I got as far as seeing the map name "Dog Green" and decided I didn't care

You might think that sounds like a useless comment, but I just see the game as more of the same old same old...

Hmm maybe it's because you don't know WW2 Online? These guys did that game, which for a lot of realism lovers has the best damage model ever made.

However I agree that the setting is not the most original one but on the other hand WW2 is WW2

I have seen the video before, several times. I have also heard from some that WW2 Online was only ho-hum. Also seen video's of the game. The gameplay only looked so-so.

Hey, it could be a great game and if people like it great! I was only commenting on my interest in the same overdone setting
