Default Classic: Move compass to tactical display/map view.

I understand that the compass is part of the familiarity of the original RO, but I don't understand why something that you ignore 98% of the time isn't in the tactical display or overhead map view. It is mostly unused and mostly just obstructs your view. I would prefer it out of my sight until I need to look at it.

I agree that the compass should only be shown when you bring up the tactical screen.

+1 from me.

Cheers

I m using the compass especally in the ditches of mamayew, so I dont need to come out of the duck for orientation But there should be options to configure the HUD like in RO1 (enable/disable weapon info, compass, text chat etc).

Now you talk about it I have to say that I just don't care about it either. But it never blocked me for anything. So why wouldn't we start to find idea in order to use it ?

Here's one I just got : TW removes the big horrible boxes for spots from our natural view, keep the little red circle displaying when pressing T, and add the direction of the spot on the compass as a really simple icon.

This way we have this kind of situation : someone spots an enemy -> icon on the compass -> the player look at the same direction -> press T -> see the distance -> ??? -> PROFIT

Nah ?

I dont really need the exact position of an enemy as it changes mostly at the same moment I continue to move forward. I just need to get near to the position I marked on the compass virtually. I learned this at the "Bundeswehr" :-) I try to play RO2 as a search and destroy game. It 's hard, the situations changes very fast because of the zoom-in feature and the resulting headshots (one shot one kill).
Personally I dont like all the other technical help, e.g. enemy spot button (man, whose idea was this!!!), so it would be nice if the HUD is configurable to fit everyones need.

Removing the spots isn't a bad idea, especially in RO Classic. But as in RO1 compass should be able to wear various icons, and as in RO1 we should be able to set the HUD as we wish.

I can't for the life of me understand why the compass is

1) so huge on the screen, and

2) not on the tactical view. I thought the whole point of the tactical view was to hide HuD elements?

Also, I'm not at all liking all of these weird HuD icons for enemy spotted. They just don't fit in RO. If you MUST put them in the game, devs, please keep them on the tactical view.

So yes, I agree.

The type of compass and its location are servers option for a custom server.
Where enemy spotted show up (if at all) is also a custom server option.
Whether spotted enemies, teammates or just squad members show up on the realism compass is a custom server option.

Lots of tweaks a server admin can do.
