So it seems it's unlikely there's going to be no zoom when you go in IS with a reintroduction of the Zoom key that gives you max zoom.
It is said weapons were modelled with a certain zoom level in mind (like the rifle IS is modelled with 1.9X zoom in mind) and if you decrease it some things will be broken. I'm not sure what and if TWI can explain to us what the problem is specifically it would be appreciated. So I propose a different system, leave the zoom the way it is now but still give us the zoom key that gives us maximum zoom. Because it doesn't make much sense certain weapons give you more zoom than others. Sometimes I just want to zoom to see something more clearly (like for example plan the safest route to point B). The reason why IS zoom should stay the way it is now is because if you want to change the zoom you can still do it in the .ini file (afaik). That way there isn't any broken feature in RO2 officially but if we want we can still change the values. |

I voted for 4, because I have played with little to none IS zoom 400+ hours and not encountered glitches.

Personally I think the current system has the worst of both worlds.
One of the major issues with zoom is that it benefited camping too much since you had a significant advantage at range if you were standing still. However now we still have the same problem, only its riflemen who get the best zoom and everyone else gets shafted. It's still rewards riflemen sitting back and camping, only now SMG men and such don't even have a chance to see the rifleman who's at 150m, let alone shoot back. The problem in RO2 was that the maps were too small so riflemen and snipers didn't get their full advantage from the zoom feature (which is to balance the short sightedness of limited FOV) However when you play RO2 standard on some of the new maps, like Butuvo or Mamayev, the zoom balances perfectly. Removing zoom altogether has just swapped one problem (SMGs are too effective), that was mainly casued by map design, for another (Riflemen are far to effective at any range 100m+). Not only that but now I'm back to pixel hunting with rifle at ranges of 100m+. It's not even possible to properly see an enemy at 200m let alone hit them. This has meant all the effort in making big new maps is totally wasted. I would rather either have the old zoom system back, or no zoom at all, as variable IS zoom is totally unbalanced, not to mention terrible for situational awareness. |

I support a configuration option for shift zoom, with no zoom in iron sights. Max shift zoom set at current iron sights zoom level in Classic. The other poll options are too narrow.

Isn't shift zoom the control breath? If i want to control my breath without zooming? ArmAesques settings?

What we need is an independent zoom key that can be used at any time, regardless of movement, sighting or whatever. It's the easiest, most natural solution.

I'm going to backtrack here.
I stated previously that I wanted a certain control over the/my zoom. After going back & forth between the Retail & Beta game, I think that the "fixed zoom" is good to go, as is in the Beta! I have only used the bolt/semi bolt riffles, I know nothing of lmg's or what not.
