Mount & Blade Warband: Napoleonic Wars Announcement trailer - YouTube

Release date "Soon"

A Mount & Blade game/dlc/expansion set in the last years of the Napoleonic Wars. Basically they turned a mod (Mount&Musket) into a DLC/Expansion they are going to sell for money.

Features 5 factions, crapload of muskets, spears, swords and cannons. This thing also has boats if I remember right. New gamemodes, destructible environment, musicians, engineers, multiplayer up to 250 people, all sorts of stuff.

I have to say I'm really excited about this (being an M&B veteran)
Probably going to insta-buy when it's out.

Anyone else a Mount&Blade warrior? What are your thoughts?

If it has single player, then I'll probably get it. That's all that M&M lacked.

And the AI better be able to form squares and fire by rank, or it'll be a severe gouge.

EDIT: This **** better not be an April Fool's Joke.

It does not have singleplayer.

I'll only buy it if the word from Mount and Musket veterans is positive. There's no point in buying a MP-only DLC if it doesn't have a strong online following.

Then I've lost interest. I'll probably buy it eventually, but not on day 1.

I've actually played a fair amount of Mount and Musket.
Personally I very much prefer M&M multiplayer over regular M&B, and as such I'm interested in buying.
I love how you don't have to buy equipment, because that is one of the aspects of regular M&B that I really, really despise.
Next to that, having a gun levels the playing field somewhat, as it's a bit easier to score a kill even if you suck at the melee, while still not being overpowered.
The guns are inaccurate as hell on longer distances, and take up to 30 seconds or so to reload, so most of the time you can get off just the one shot.
The gameplay is just great, imo.

I've never played M&M but I've seen many Let's play and multiplayer battles (clan vs clan) and gameplay is great. Really looking forward for that DLC.

Now there's some nice videos!

@SiC-Disaster, yeah I also prefer the M&M style of selecting a troop. Only if there was something like an option to enable/disable the customizing of your character's loadouts in normal M&B WB multiplayer..

Those videos are awesome! I'm impressed with the work that they've done to greatly expand and improve on the mod. The music is awesome, and I'm glad they added the commander mode so that the game can be fun with just a few people.

Commander mode seems very interesting!
Nice way to get a large battle going.

this video is the ultimate reason to play this game
i had a great time with the mod, raising the spirits of my comrades with fine music
at least until some douchebag cavalry pinned me on his lance... i couldn't even defend myself
if you send your troops to certain death at least give them a proper soundtrack for dying!
i love that they recorded tunes for every faction, bagpipes for the scotts? hell yeah!
a very clever move to make this mod a dlc, it's a path no mainstream developer would dare to tread.
it's nice to see mods evolve into great titles, this kind of stuff will keep pc-gaming worthwhile compared to all the casual-console-port crap we have to endure (if we choose to ).

Hey there!

I am Drako, one of the guys helping people get introduced to our community and the DLC. I noticed that some of you have purchased the DLC, thus I decided to stay here for a while, answering questions and such. So if you have any questions regarding the DLC, dont mind asking me!

I bought the DLC a few days ago and only had a quick game so far. I enjoyed it though and will play some more. I'm quite new to the whole M&B series having only started late last year, with all my experience got in the cRPG mod. I was just wondering if you have any plans for including some features from cRPG in a future game (or maybe this dlc), like player progression, customisation, marketplace, player customisation, character builds etc. They also have an extensive weather system, not sure if thats in the DLC too

Just thought i'd ask something since you might not be here long . Someone with more experience with the DLC will probably have some better questions

Hey. Such features are not yet included in the DLC. Due to the realism regarding the different types of units which are in the game, we must keep it as it is. In the Napoleonic Wars, depending on your unit, everyone had similar equipment and items. During the medieval ages though, depending on how much money you had, the armor and weapons might have been different. As for weather, we have improved since Mount & Musket which was the first "version" of the DLC. But if you have suggestions, go here and post your ideas ---> http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.p...,225556.0.html
