Default Where's the updated game manual?

Where is the updated game manual that was released as a WIP months ago? After 200 hours into the game, I still find new things on a daily basis that make me scratch my head. It would be great if I could open it up and find what I needed.

We have no official source of information about RO2. At best we have some community run projects which are all incomplete.

I can remember when terraria was in development and eventually released; the 2 devs for that game had already setup an official wiki for the community to work in and filled a large part of the content themselves. I know it isn't a requirement for a game release, but why don't we have the same thing for RO2? It's not even like all the mechanics in the game are common sense; many decisions were made for historical accuracy's sake and make 0 sense in the context of a computer game.

As it stands now, when I find something in RO2 that I don't fully understand, there is no where for me to turn. I'm left wondering how things actually function.

Here's the old one, from September last year.

Well since RO2 seems to be a perpetual Beta and the TWI stuff has all hands on improvements (at least they say so) there is no time to update a manual.

Wait... there is a manual? In a complex game like this, where seemingly small details can make a big difference, a manual is a real must-have for everyone.

There was a manual?

Just downloaded. Not bad... at some point, it would be nice to see it updated.

What for godsake did you find, on daily basis, what made you scratch your head.

For Territory:
Its an FPS and you can spawn in a desired role. It will give you a weapon and some nades. Then all you need to do is press "T" which shows where you have to run. If you don't want to press T you can follow Fritz or Ivan. This depends which team you picked. Then run to the spot, shown to you when you pressed "T" and kill everything you see wearing another colored uniform as you. After while the game will tell you something. And then press "T" again and follow previous step.

It aint Rocketscience.

What are the rules for bullet penetration. What about the weight system. Hitzones for tanks. Rules on spawning SL. Do SL and TL really take more tickets to spawn?

Those are the things I could remember off the top of my head that should be answered by the manual.

Also RO1 had a huge Tactical and Historical guide. It was awesome.

Well, besides the fact that I still have unanswered questions about the various nuances of the game, I'm curious where the progress to the game manual has brought it since the first release.

I know I'm not entirely alone in having questions and since we don't already have some official source of information why not ask about that game manual which they already said would be built upon into the future? I would go a step further and say even if nobody had ANY questions about the game that TWI should continue working on this and release updated versions periodically, just because they've already stated that they would.

Besides all that, I obviously have a basic understanding of the game as you describe it. Press T, follow objectives & shoot enemies. Anyone can figure that out without a manual.

Things I don't know
-Why don't cooked grenades explode in hand? I've tried to suicide with them but it never works. I've been told it has historical significance with how the fuses worked.
-How does the encumbrance system work? Is it % based slowdown based on total weight? Which weapons weigh the most?
-What are the per-level progression stats of weapons and loadouts? I have yet to find a listing through google of this, very basic, mechanic.
-Limbs work on an HP system and require bandaging when they're out of HP, how much HP do they start out with & how much set damage do different weapons apply?

These are just a few examples of the questions I have about the game that have yet to be answered. The manual would be the best bet for getting answers, considering it's by the actual developers, but I haven't seen an update since September last year.

TLDR: Yeah, we all have a basic understanding of the game but some of the more in-depth mechanics aren't very obvious.

He actually makes a pretty darn good point.

In contrast with Ostfront's heavily detailed manual, one would think with all the additions in Heroes of Stalingrad, the discrepancies of these new features would be explained in greater detail for people who purchased the game.

Don't understand the negative comments. These forums nowadays are just black and white, no grey area of debate and compromise here. Such a shame.

Oh, spare me the taking of sides....... Everything of late here, in the forums, is either slamming the Devs or accusatory of anyone attempting to minimize the flow of offensive negativity.

Or people finding themselves at the end of every sting for the sake of his or her trollish enjoyment. Kind of like yourself, there is literally nothing else you do here besides kiss dev *** or troll users. Let me stop though, I don't want to be taking sides...

Are random people on the internet who purchase the game who possess such inquiries suppose to know who Yoshiro is? And that he has briefly touched this information here?

You say get a life but that's exactly the point - not every potential player of this title is spending they every waking moment hawking the forums for information, right? There are people out there who are oblivious to these forums yet love the game. Or is that not possible?

Why should I have to come to the forums for every little question I have when they've already put out a game manual which, as they stated, would be updated periodically? Do you honestly think it would be better for either party if I had to ask every question and then wait for one of the forum admins, likely yoshiro, to spend time answering my question?

Updating the game manual is a better option FOR EVERYONE.

I agree..... but then everything has priorities... right now the highest of priority is dedicated to Beta2, Classic Mode and Programming Enhancements. I am certain that, once things calm down, you'll see the manual updates appear.

Perhaps they could throw it in with the next update. I was surprised that there was a manual, but I couldn't find it in any of the game folders.

That's the whole point of this thread... to ask the devs what's the progress, if any, on the manual itself...

/facepalm
