There have been multiple posts on this topic. First, make sure you are running a system with 8+ gigs of ram. Second, once inside the content browser, right click on the content folder in the left column and click "fully load." You will need to do this 3-4 times before all assets are fully loaded. This should allow for less crashes and a more consistent content browser.

But it's clicking on packages in the content browser that cause most peoples crashes. If you are one of those people, you are screwed.
The OP should pm yoshiro directly with his pc specs and on which packages the crash happens. Have you got any text in the search bar of the content browser? |

I haven't used the SDK yet but do you guys have an ini file that has EditPackages listed?
If so, enter the package that you are having trouble opening and the next time you load the editor the package will load automatically. Hope that helps with the crashing p.s. Have any of you guys tried 'Ganging' your RAM? Check in your BIOS to see if it is ganged or not. If it isnt, then it only allows a per core amount of ram, ie, if you have a quad-core chip and 8 gig of ram, you will only be using 2gb of ram at a time and since I have heard that ro2, doesn't utilise all cores then, your ram will be limited. However, if you have it ganged, then you will be using all 8gb, even if only 1 core is being used. Last edited by braindead; 02-05-2012 at 03:41 PM. |

Try deleting the GameAssetDatabase.checkpoint file from the Content directory in the Steam install area. I had a similar problem in house when I took the GAD out of the equation here and that is what got me over the hill.
