Hello,
i guess most of the server administrators wants to have linux server binaries.... me too. But till we get them, i want to open a thread for those guys who wants to try wine. A few years ago i had success in running Call of Duty 5 under wine and it worked with 40 slots... so why not trying it with RO2... I just started to install debian squeeze on my virtual server. Next i installed wine. I edited a start.sh that looks like this (You must change in folder binaries/win32): screen -dmS ro2 wine rogame.exe te-fallenfighters?minplayers=30?maxplayers=26?MinNetP layers=0 -seekfreeloadingserver -multihome=xx.xxx.xx.xxx -preferprocessor=1 Than i copied the files "d3dx9_43.dll" and "X3DAudio1_7.dll" to the folder binaries/win32 Now i started: ./start.sh The Result was an error message that looked like this: PHP Code:
PS.: Using code did not work. I used [php] instead. Awfull colors, but smilies are gone. Last edited by PGD-Panzerkurt; 09-29-2011 at 09:47 AM. |

try using [code*] [*/code] tags (without the *) that way you wont get smilies

It does 46.163.105.182:7777. 26 slots, rest up to 30 are bots. Dont know if it works under ro2, under ro1 it does. But the server is running with that options. This is our windows server, that i copied to our linux vserver.

we are trying something different. I'll get my tech to outline what he is doing to get a RO2 server running in linux. However we are trying to get a 64 slot up and running !
What is your gut feeling on when they might release linux binaries would certainly save us a lot of headaches. |
