Also, it says my display adapter stopped working? This only happens with KF... EDIT: Woops, this need to be in technical support, not the bug report. My bad! |

That's often caused by Video Card overheating. Have you checked the temperature of your Video Card when the crash occurs?

I was monitoring temps w/ the program HWmonitor, and my GPU reached a maximum of 79 C.
I did download faulty drivers (caused automatic fan speed to not work) awhile back, but I reverted back after it was toasting my card. I reached temps of 106 C while playing MW2, before it crashed. I wonder if my card has been been permanently damaged... EDIT: Is it possible that Killing Floor doesn't like overclocked GPUs? I have a pretty good OC on my 9800 GT, but I know that some games can be very sensitive. I'll try reverting to stock speeds and see if this rids of the problem. Took apart my 9800 GTX+, removed the memory chip pads, cleaned the gunk off of the die, replaced both with a few small dabs of arctic silver.
Temps dropped by 10C, has been stable ever since. And yet I still get the same error. I've tried every fix on the forums too. Posted a thread on it but the mods haven't approved it yet. // Build UT2004_Build_[2004-11-11_10.48] OS: Windows NT 6.1 (Build: 7600) //Win 7 7200 I think CPU: AuthenticAMD Unknown processor @ 3215 MHz with 2046MB RAM //Phenom II x4 955, stock settings Video: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX/9800 GTX+ (9745) //Arctic silver applied, doesn't reach above 65 under load, stock settings IDirect3DVertexBuffer9::Lock failed(88760870). Hmm, I wonder what it could be. 79 C is very well within the limits for a 9800 GT, and it doesn't crash in any other game.

It shouldn't be over heating. Unreal Engine 2.5 doesn't use GPU that much. Try download the latest directx for your computer and all your drivers to latest version, if possible. Also keep your computer case cover closed (Sucks in less dust than it is if open) and make sure its not inside a cabinet or under something (Inside computer desk, under blanket, et cetera).
PS: what DirectX do you have? You can find that out by going to search and searching for DxDiag.exe and opening it.
