This one is inspired by the "No bots in multiplayer" thread.
As of now, the bots function as a "serve filler". Giving people something to shoot at until the server fills up. But playing against and with AI (in its current RO:O state) isn't a whole lot of fun. Since RO:HOS will have a Skirmish mode, why not give players the option to start one whenever they want? In case you don't know which game mode I'm talking about, it's the one where 2 players battle each other with AI that they control. So let's say there are 2 people in a server, and they're waiting for it to fill up. Instead of playing "normal" RO with bots, they can then vote to have a little Skirmish fight on the map that is on at that moment. The more people there are in the server, the less number of AI each player controls. If there are more than 4 people in the server, a Skirmish vote will no longer be possible, because that would make things too chaotic. For example: 1 human vs. 1 human: each player controls 12 AI (2 squads of 6 AI) 2 humans vs 2 humans: each player controls 6 AI (2 squads of 3 AI) The number of AI isn't set it stone of course. Once there are 5 or more people in the server, the Skirmish fight automatically ends and the server goes back to its "normal" RO mode. I dunno, maybe it's very unpractical, but I thought I'd throw around some ideas. |

Hmm this isn’t really a bad idea. Nice if it would be added but.
Some may not want to control a squad they should be able to choose them self in game. When there are a small amount of players in the server. Example: 3 or 5 but lets say 5 players, is in the server 4 of them want to control a squad but, one of them don’t, his squad will be killed by the enemy very easily because, the leader of the squad is a not a competent leader. So the leader, officer or best player or someone suited on his team should get the ability to have his squad. Instead of him, if he wants of course. Sorry if this is not understandable, I’m very very sleepy, peace out . Last edited by Matt Baker; 01-12-2010 at 04:30 PM. |

If the game features something like squads in the game (say a squad is a small group of 6 people or so).
Then it could be that the bots divide themselves randomly over all available squads making every squad equally big. Then real players in a squad with bots will automatically be the squad leader, but they would be able to join another squad with real players as well. This way if every player prefers to they can take control of a small bot squad and play a little skirmish. Or all players just join a squad together and just go shoot some bots.
