Ok ok, but you don't have to start a thread for every bit of news posted on SI.

i'd like to know what hardware the Tripwire guys are using to take those screens, and what their basic in-house rigs are for testing the betas. those look really nice, i just want to be well prepared hard-ware wise come release day.

Well, if you don't mind a "by no means official, things are subject to change" type of thing I could tell you my two rigs (well 1 rig that got significant upgrades over a short period of time). The problem is this early in development hardware requirements are subject to change on a weekly basis due to the art team saying: "but we really NEED this" and the coders agree and they add support for awesome new feature or "tighten the graphics of level 3" or what not.

But of a game running a similar build of the engine:
But I played UT 3 well with a core 2 duo (e6600), 4 gigs of ram, windows xp pro, and a 8800gt 512 meg.

I also have played it very well with a core 2 quad (q6800) 4 gigs of ram, windows xp pro and windows vista ultimate 64, and a Nvidia 275.

One can assume that the final system requirements will be similar to those of UT3, give or take.

Maybe

nice, thanks Yoshiro. I understand things may change as we get closer to release, but those two rigs are good benchmarks for me. I'm building a new rig with a Phenom II x3 720, 4 gigs DDR3 1333, and re-using my HD3870 for now. And that will be running Win7. So I think I should be in good pretty good shape for starters.

Maybe

With more detailed ballistics and probably larger maps, plus maybe taking advantage of newer effects, I'd say a little more demanding.

Even then, a GTX 260 can max it out. UT3 runs great, so if HoS is optimized well, an affordable PC will be able to max it out at release.

Notice the image from behind the MG 34. It looks like our vision is no longer fixed exclusively to the sights when the MG is deployed. Nice.
