Default Welcome to the RO: Heroes of Stalingrad Forums

Welcome to the RO: Heroes of Stalingrad forums. I'm sure the battles fought in these forums will rival the one's fought in the game when it is released Let's keep it civil, and lets have fun speculating about what's coming (and discussing what is announced as information is released).

Man...FINALLY!
1st off: thanks to Tripwire for an INCREDIBLE game that we have all enjoyed for so long.

I think the timing could not be better for us at Texas Militia. Our RO server is pretty new, and we have already a good core nucleus around which we can build our RO-2 efforts.

Personally I am just about breathless at the thought of RO-2. I can absolutely confirm that I will pre-load this game within a few hours of being able to.

(PS: several of our members have pre-loaded Killing Floor. L4D is quite popular at TxM, and Killing Floor looks like it will hit big for us.)

Seen the article no mention of tanks or vehicles for that matter, however they probadly werent ready to be shown. Looks great though and seems we're in for a few suprises.

I really hope to see some versions of the early war tanks and tank destroyers that didn't make it into Ostfront. And maybe some more variation in the weapons, as well, as it wasn't too uncommon for Axis forces to use weapons and vehicles from other nations they'd gone through.
I also think that the game community might expand and flourish, in light of this new game. And with more people, comes more modders, and therefore more mod content. Though I certainly love the work the current modders are doing, it seems the mod community isn't exactly huge for Ostfront, so it'd be nice to see an influx of more talent.

I so hope that this game will use the latest Unreal Engine 3.0 features like ambient occlusion maps and lightmass...
With that and Tripwire's texture detail, the game will advertise itself.

I see that they tried to copy exactily the red orchestra 1 model , but i dont get it why do they need to copy all the features , i dont see any point in adding the same swaying time and all those timing features ,red orchestra 2 is more apdated and should have different settings.
