Default Another Engine C++ error

Hey guys, seems to be one of the ongoing things...

Been trying to play this game for over a year now since it messed up and still can't.

I've tried reinstalling, game, verifying cache, updating video card drivers... and a whole bunch of other stuff.

This is the message I get when I try to play.

Build RedOrchestra_Build_[2005-11-27_10.48]

OS: Windows NT 6.0 (Build: 6000)
CPU: GenuineIntel PentiumPro-class processor @ 2395 MHz with 2045MB RAM
Video: NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GS (7519)

Engine C++/UnrealScript class size mismatch

History: VerifyClasses <- UGameEngine::LoadMap <- UGameEngine::Init <- InitEngine <- FMallocWindows::Free <- FMallocWindows::Free

Now I have heard through the grapevine that NVIDIA normally has a bad track record with Unreal engine based games. I am not for sure if that is the truth or not. But, anyhow, I love this game and am still wanting to play pretty bad

Is my video card any count? It seems to work really well. I thought maybe if I uninstalled my video card and reinstalled it it may help...

anyone got any suggestions?

I appreciate it

The 7900gs is a good video card, more than able to run RO.
Are other games working fine ?

A clean driver install is recommended.

http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=745

Read the "readme", its easy to use.

DirectX update...

CrapCleaner is very useful for keeping things clean.
Go google.
What you may try is to delete RO using Steam, and anything that is left over by hand, (in the Steam Common folder).
Then run the issues tool that comes with CrapCleaner, look for anything related to the game.

The trouble between Nvidia and the UnreaEnginel is pretty much limited to the 8X series.
Good luck.

Hmm, tried all those things and none seemed to work.

:-(

Oh well, I am almost to the point of just reformatting my PC and starting from scratch just so I can play this game.

Now all I have to do is figure out how to save all the important stuff.

Install all to CD's??

Looks like a bad engine file to me. Try deleting your clientregistry.blob and ro/system file at the same time and see if it will download you a fresh one from a different content server.

I appreciate all the advice... I have done both of these as well.

It was all sort of random. It happened bouta year ago. All of a sudden it would not work and this is where we have been since then.

Y'all think if I used XP instead of vista it might work? Does vista seem to run poorly with RO?

Have not heard of vista causing a specific problem with RO like this no.
