I recently (re)started playing the bf42 realism mod forgotten hope with it's new texture and realism soundpack...
![]() It's so ****ing great,the tanks sounds have that"clang clang " sound if u know what i mean(it's really scary to hear advancing an enemy tank in your direction),also the mg sounds are amazing,.... Some of them are OK, but on the whole I still find most of RO's sounds better.
Of course, if we still need a game to shamelessly rag on for poor sounds, look no further than CoD 2 (lasers pewpew!) or even ArmA (it took me two whole days to get a sound replacement pack, the fastest I've ever modded any game, ever).

I LOVE how in Medal of Honor Allied Assault the Kar98 emits a *plop* when you fire it, but a *POWWWWW* when you fire it while it has a scope on top... Its like that in CoD1 too.

It's because people using the scope are usually far away and make their shots count, so it obviously has to be more dramatic

Yup. If I still had that sound byte I'd use it for everygame like I used to; it replaced my Day of Defeat sounds.

The Kar98 with a scope is also more powerful. Almost always a one shot kill, while the unscoped Kar98 always took two.
