Default Winter Cup Grand Final!

Winter Cup Grand Final time!

In February, Tripwire Interactive announced sponsorship for the Winter Cup from AMD, ATI and Logitech. Now, after a total of 64 teams have battled it out, the contest is down to the last two – it is Grand Final time. The finalists in this match will split the prizes:

- Two AMD Athlon(TM) 64 X2 5000+ dual core processors
- Two AMD Athlon(TM) 64 X2 5200+ dual core processors
- Four ATI Radeon x1900 GT graphics cards
- Two Logitech G15 Gaming keyboards and six G5 Gaming mice
*
At 3pm EST/9pm CET this Sunday, 6 May, the big event will take place, pitting the best clan from Europe against the best clan from North America. Representing the European hopes will be Project-Twilight, facing off against {CoreNA) for North America. The game will be carried online for all to watch, via ROTV. The full details for spectating the game will be made available nearer the time, on the RO website frontpage – all you will need is Steam, a copy of Red Orchestra: Ostfront and a working internet connection. The game will be broadcast live (with just enough delay to prevent any sneakiness) as it is played, with the commentary coming from none other than the President of Tripwire Interactive: John Gibson.

About the teams:

Project-Twilight was founded in 2003 by scarred and yanKee as the third clan worldwide and first European clan for RO. They have been a tremendous force ever since they were created, with their key ingredient of teamwork, skill, and dedication. The other key to success in which they believe is always trying to have the same lineup in every match to build their chemistry and to know how each other’s play styles. The result: they have only lost one clan match in their 3 year history, a loss handed to them by the Finns of the -SUOMI- clan back in the mod days, in their first Winter Cup Final. Their clan record in Red Orchestra is an outstanding accomplishment, which they reckon is second to none. Sunday will tell!

CoreNA is a hybrid clan created from the original Core, when Gooseman and rugger9 decided they wanted their own North American division in 2005. CoreNA had their struggles in the last stages of the mod, losing more than winning.* Then Red Orchestra went retail and opened a new door to many people around the world through Steam. CoreNA picked up Vader who became the next leader of CoreNA. He helped recruit and build CoreNA up to its supreme status that it holds today. CoreNA rose to the top of TWL in every ladder it offered in the early months of Ostfront and stayed on top until they moved to RO:Ladder officially. CoreNA has not been beaten in their North American scene in over a year now and they aim to stay at the top on Sunday!

So, this Sunday the Winter Cup Final pits the best against the best in the ultimate test to see just which crew can come out on top. Of course, then they have to face an invitation match against the powerhouse that is the Tripwire Interactive Dev team – who have also never lost a match. Not that we have played that many – but who is counting?

Sunday 6 May 3pm EST/9pm CET: the two best RO clans in the world go head-to-head for the prizes in RO:Ladder’s Winter Cup. See it live, as it happens on ROTV and listen to Tripwire President John Gibson shoutcast as he has famously done at E3 in recent years.

What's up? couldn't afford John Motson for the commentary?

This is going to be a classic match - no doubt about it.

Euros FTW!!!

Yay Team PT.
