Default What if Germany won WW2......

What if they won? and lets say over a few decades after the war, things eventually developed into sort of EU or united states.

How technologically advanced do you think we would be?

At the end of the war, they had (either in testing, finished or prototype) a stealth bomber (like the B2, it was a flying wing, and that was finished in like 1989?), Jets, Guided long range rockets, supposed flying saucer technology, a nuclear program, advanced aircraft desingn (forward swept wings).

Not to mention everything else, like what I cant name, things that werent revealed or destroyed to cover up, or other things.

What if all the scientists that got split between the US and Russia were kept together in germany?

If they continued working how much farther would we be?

The Fact is they didnt, we won, thus we do not need to think what life would have been like if they had we must think what life is like now....

Things went better when it comes to technology because the wars winner's took the scientists, and their technology and allowed them more freedom than they had under Nazi Germany.

Even though the United States, and the Soviet Union split them up they still did more because they had the budgets of two superpowers who were in direct competition with each other.

We would not have made it to the moon in 1969 under the control of the Nazis.

Yea, but why did it take44 more years to get a B-2 bomber when they had one almost ready for production?

They didn't. They had a flying wing design. That doesn't make it stealthy in and of itself. They didn't have the advanced materials or the know how to design a stealth bomber in 1944.

Also, you guys need to realize that the nazi's penchant for spawning research projects for everything under the sun was one of the reasons they lost the war in the first place. They didn't NEED a stealth bomber in 1944.

Umm they had a flying wing, so did the USA. And neither one of them were "stealth".

Quit learning your history from playing 'Medal of Honor" games.

If you're only looking to judge technological progress, well, it might have been lessened. Competition matters; witness the changes in, say, tanks between 1920 and 1940, and then between 1940 and 1945.

If Germany had truly conquered the entire world, there wouldn't be that competition. As it was, the United States quickly found the Soviet Union to compete against, leading to continued developments in aircraft, nuclear weapons, etcetera.

If you want to get curious, check out books by Harry Turtledove. "Days of Infamy" looks at what might have happened if the Japanese invaded Hawaii, while "In the Presence of Mine Enemies" looks at a victorious Germany. There's weirder books, too, that look at the effects of competition; there's actually a whole weird series about the outcome of World War II if .. er ... aliens had landed.

I believe we would be much more advanced, technologically, especcially because of the flying saucer thing.

If Germany Won, the NeoNAZI's in this forum would be able to Zig Heil in 'public', instead of "in secret'... naked in front of their bathroom mirror.

Thoroughly tactfull and reasoned response mate
By the way there is a film out in the UK at the moment, its a 'mockumentary' about what would have happened if the south had won the civil war........
scary stuff, with repercussions into WW2 and beyond

What's it called? I live in the south (Georgia) and have often wondered what our winning would have done to world history.

Just reading Fatherland at the moment which is set in a 1960's Germany where they won the war. Worth looking up if you haven't read it.

Two questions:

1) Did any major country during WW2 have equal weapons like the V2 Rockets?
2) Did the germans have any rockets which could be equipped with a nuclear warhead? Or did I just play too much Hearts of Iron 2 Doomsday?

The V2 was a brilliant weapon, although it was short range.

I think the b-29 was a much better bombing platform, and it did carry A-Bombs further than the V2 could with a much larger payload.

Sry, I meant if there were any other countries at that time which had rockets like the V2
