Default Framerates

Why is it on this game i get very poor framerates?

specs
Pentium4 HT 3.06 GHZ
Ati X800 XT
1024 RAM

my framerates are often in the 17 to 30 margin why?
In game my cpu usage is only around 40%
and ram used is only 876mb so whats the deal?

Look around in the support forum, theres a whole bunch of tweak guides there than can really help you.

Your system should be quite capable of getting decent frame rates in RO, i know quite a few people here who play with lesser systems than yours who have it running fine.

Also, if you have not allready, i'd suggest you go over your OS and and make sure you have nothing running in the background that does not need to be running, aswell as Spyware and the like, it can work wonders sometimes.

I think there are some issues with HT. Disable it in bios and try again. PLease post the results.

(40% CPU time with HT can be 80%+ real processor usage on non mutithreaded applications )

hmm i would rather not disable it for just one game. May have a big effect on my other stuff.

would ctrl alt delete and choosing 1cpu not do the same?

choosing the affinity to 1 logical CPU doesn't bring to much but you can try it. Btw HT is not so *ueber* like it is advertised.
I don't know what other apps do you run but if the apps were not optimised for HT (massive multi threading) it doesn't bring too much (except extra power consumption).
Anyway Intel will drop the HT for the next gen processors.
