Theme:

Infantry maps. The aim is to recreate some close quarters battle with intense firefights and a hopefully some nice squad based face-offs.

General Map Rules:
- Maps may be of any size, with any number of objectives, anything goes basically, within the scope of an infatry battle (that means no vehicles I'm afraid in this contest - but maybe in the future we will have another combined arms theme.....)
- There will be no specific rules on classes, but please keep them sensible, we don't want to see an army of snipers, or a squad of only riflemen vs a squad of SMG's and MG's!
- Maps based on historical battles would be ideal, but you will not be marked down for "invention". But please be aware that historical accuracy fits more with the whole idea of RO:O, and would be appreciated most!
- Bot pathing will NOT be considered in any submitted maps, but obviously it's nice preferred you include bot support.
- Ports of maps from the mod will NOT be accepted, however you may remake and update your own previous/existing maps, or use previous ideas and improve on them, and enter the competition PROVIDING that it is agreed upon by contest admins.
- You may NOT use textures or static meshes from the mod version of Red Orchestra (due to possible legal implications), or from maps made by other modders (unless you have their permission). You may however use/reuse your own previous static meshes and texture, and any ones you may create in the future, as well as the works of others if you have their permission, and any artwork in the retail version of Red Orchestra.
- You map work on team maps (multiple people working on the same project) but prizes will have to be shared between you, as you see fit ;)
- You may create new custom objects and classes for things like static guns (like mortars or MG nests), however this excludes using tanks or and halftracks and anchoring them in place.

Time Frame:
The SDK has just been released, and hopefully people are already beavering away at meshes and maps. We're probably thinking 2 months at least before judging will commence, and we will see how projects develop with the release of the SDK before setting a firm deadline, to make sure people have enough time to present well tested and completed maps.

Prizes:
We will have various categories (as of yet undecided - but hopefully rewarding things like good original artwork/models, good atmosphere and innovative features), as well as the best maps overall.

The Contest Admins reserve the right to modify and add to the rules at any time. Any changes to the rules will be made public before they come into effect. We will of course be updating information as time goes on, so keep an eye open.

The {Core} EU and NA servers should both be available for use to test maps when the time comes. We will also be looking for people to judge the maps and choose who will win any prizes, so if you think you are qualified, please get in contact with me, Zetsumei or {Core}Steven.
This is NOT affiliated with Tripwire in any way shape or form.
Slight changes have been made to satisfy the needs of some of the dedicated mappers who love RO but want freedom in their mapping :p

aaahmmm, can i use static meshes from tripwire. i mean those that are included in the editor?
you wrote i could use artwork of the editor. does that include the SM?

All new stuff is OK.
The issue is that some of the artwork from the MOD version of RO (3.3 etc) was made by people no longer working for Tripwire (IIRC), so they have not given permission for its use in anything apart from the mod. As this competition is for prizes, it is not fair (or possibly not legal as well) for people to use their artwork/meshes/etc and gain from it, when they have not given their permission for people to do so.

All the NEW stuff (everything included in RO:O retail release - textures, meshes, anything else) is fine however. And so, obviously, is your own work.
