[Game] Witchhunt to replace Mice

Not sure if this would go here or in the Games section but seeing as Games is just software, what about hardware?

Help me out here, someone!

I'm getting sick of my mouse, I'm about to eat it, srsly...its a genetic Ativa™ USB Optical Mouse = Item #: 611405. Got it after school was throwing/pwning old equipment away, so I snagged an unopened Ativa Mouse.

Now, after 2 years of useage, I'm about to eat it. Nom nom nom. The little blue light that glowed has gone out, the paint is...I think deteriorating? And its hurting my hand a little.

Now I'm not much of a "Pro-Gamer" but since I'll be using the mouse for a good amount of gaming, then I'm going to have to get 'Gamer-grade' hardware. After a very long witchhunt that resulted in crashing my browser about 24 times, I made this list...

Spoiler!

Anyone got any advice, or suggestions from this? I'm taking any that I can, because I'm about to be eating wire for breakfast.:IS2:

Microsoft Intellimouse, 5 button version.

Is the best thing you can get. Its good, comfortable, solid, soft buttons and wheel click, big but light weight, so its easy to grab and move. It also has a low price.

My current mouse:

Really, my mouse is VERY old, it still uses a ball which falls out occasionally. I might get one of these:

Or I could go with something else that comes with a large number of buttons. One for shooting, aiming, alt-attack, reloading, grenade, screenshot and insulting opponents and then teammates.

Thanks a LOT for the suggestions...I noticed nobody recommended the Sidewinder, let meh toss them out...

I updated it and added one more mice I'm looking at, the Razer Lachesis...but so far, EVERYONE, and not just here but in other places, tell me Logitech is 'Gold'.

I'm thinking between the G9x because the MX 518 series are all, believe it or not, SOLD OUT.

Was looking at the G5, but I wish to see what years of hard work and advance in technology has achived to make a 'better mouse' ಠ_ಠ

Yeah, I had one of those in the past...didn't quite like the performance, but thanks a lot for the input!
Razer Deathadder if you're an FPS guy. I couldn't be more happier.
More of a 'Claw' guy and I had a friend who let me use it, feels too weird for my tastes, but thanks!
Logitech MX Revolution.

This is the apex of desktop rodent evolution.
It is now the Performance MX

@Gibby. Why must you make me spill my water, LOL...that is just funny, I'll take that mouse! <3

Tbh, I did consider Cyborg, I really did, almost went through with it till I read the reviews and saw the material it was made out of...unless it goes on sale (Around 30% and above), I won't even look at it. Here's the pricing for the R.A.T. 9

That R.A.T looks interesting, lots'o buttons and all, but i do wonder how compfortable it'd be to use..

With the RAT they added a feature i requested :D.

When they were still designing that thing they put up a questionaire for what features people wanted. I said i wanted a snipe button, where you have a different mouse speed while pushing down the button but regular mouse speed when releasing the button.

For that feature alone once this stupid G5 dies I'll get one of those rats.

Since nobody has recommended it, I thought I'd bring this one to your attention:

Widely accepted as one of the best FPS gaming mouses by competitive players. Of course, those are just subjective opinions. Different people have different preferences.

Also, a very important point to make is that getting a gaming mouse is rather pointless unless you also get a good mouse mat. For example, for the mouse I recommended, something from the Steelseries HD series might be a good choice. Most companies that make gaming gear also have a wide selection of different mousing surfaces, so definitely get familiar with them.

If you're gonna be spending €60-80 on a mouse, you'll want to be able to get everything out of that mouse and you won't be able to do that without a €20-40 mouse mat. A mouse is only as good as the surface you use it on. As a rule of thumb, be prepared to spend about half of what your mouse costs on the mat you're gonna be using it on.
