I'm curious. How will Tinnitus (ringing of the ears after loud noises) be implemented in the game?

I think this is a typical situation where tinnitus does add to the realism, but absolutely not to the gameplay.

An annoying beep maybe immersive for the first few arty rounds, but after a while it might really annoy you on arty-heavy maps.

Explosions very rarely cause tinnitus compared to gunshots.

ACE mod for ArmA 2 had some great ear-ringing system. you had to apply ear plugs before shooting, otherwise, you'd go deaf for a while.
and as a long time player of ACE and its counterparts I say, leave ear ringing to ArmA 2.

RO is a game of lots of grenades and arty. we'd get tired pretty fast of the ringing effect. and as mentioned, some of us have to deal with Tinnitus every day of our lives (I have had it since age 10).

only serves to make it even more annoying, imagine you get it everytime you fire 5 bullets

as i see it, red orchestra is a game where you need to listen closely to footsteps. headphones seem to be the main cause for tinnitus in this day and age

Same here, from a poorly fitting ear-plug. Wish someone would invent a time-machine so I could change that day.

While I doubt it will happen, a client side option to turn on off would be cool, default off.

Pop a few crackers while playing the game for realism you will then have Tinnitus smell of powder and a few destroyed desktop items for the real deal
