Tactics Sharpshooter Loadout

Offperk weapons aren't very useful. Your team needs to carry you since you don't really bring anything to the table.

So since my post was kind of a joke, I'm not really sure what to make of yours - I'm a terrible reader of sarcasm.

Or perhaps you mean what you say, in which case I must point to a Support Specialist fitting an MK23 into its loadout or a Medic using a Crossbow. In either case, both weapons are a welcome addition and allow the respective class to round out coverage against Zeds they wouldn't normally be able to kill (effectively). To a lesser extent, you could say the same of a Demolitions player using a the LAR.

What? HC is 10 shots and .44 is 11. The flinch lock is all about timing; and anyone who says that it isn't hard should try it with 300 ping. I just find stunning boring, and flinch locking is actually more useful in a lot of situations as you don't have everything walking around the Scrake (you can just back up while flinching the Scrake and allow your team mates to kill the trash behind it).

Of course it's hard with 300 ping; so would anything be.

And anyway, if you're really going for what's most "efficient/safe," then that would be the Crossbow.

Off-perk weapons? Wow, some of you guys are way too pro.

I usually stick with the Crossbow + single HC combo when I play as a sharpshooter. Unless it's HoE, then I prefer to kite like a lil b**** with my trusty LAR as a berserker.

I can never figure out how to take out the fleshpound reliably as a sharpshooter in HoE. I suck at killing them with the M14 too, so I always try to squeeze three bolts in the head and let others finish it off.

Just practice a crap ton of them in testmap. Also if you shoot one shot from any pistol (2 from 9mm) You can decap a fleshpound with 3 shots and use a mag of a powerful pistol to finish it off.

Yeah, I always headshot it once with the HC before I use the crossbow, but then I still take damage from the headless FP charging towards me if no one finishes it off. :(

Headless FP op lol As long as you take your HC out again and spam at the fp it should be enough, or you can hit 2 HC headshots>reload>3 bolt spam> then even if you miss a few shots you'll take it down.

9mm, HC and Crossbow ...

9mm - 1 headshot kill trash on any dificulty.
HC - 1 shot kill crawlers, piercing ammo for those WTF moments when you get cornered.
Crossbow - SC and FP.

One last thing to learn is the SC bugged headshot durring stun and you can beat anything.

I've been playing with this loadout for the last year and got allmost 90% of the achievements for the levels ... You can never go wrong :)

This is my usual sharpshooter loadout as well, except in HoE it takes two HC shots to kill a crawler. So sometimes I like to use MK23 + 44 Magnum, since it also takes two shots from the MK23 to kill a crawler and you get a lot more reserve ammo for trash with this combo.

I've recently discovered the joy of the following:

- mp5
- bow
- 44

I can only speak for Hard difficulty but the mp5 with the headshot bonus is absolutely incredible for the low level trash - and it's always nice to have someone around to pitch in with long range healing. 32 bullets/clip also seems very generous.

Bow is pretty straight foward.

The 44 I admit I don't use often but occassionally it's fun to pretend you're in a western. At the very least it comes in handy as a weapon to drop for a teammate if you find yourself in that situation. Love the stopping power.

~edit~

I just read the bow/scar suggestions.. I also need to try that sometime.
