Level Design [preview] RO-WilhelmPlatz feat. Reichskanzlei

RO-Wilhelmplatz, this map takes place in berlin 1945. in the morning of 3 may, the allies launch a last major assault on the Reichskanzlei as they had promised to the german high command.
according to russian reports, the battle was similar to the one on konigsplatz to capture the reichstag. the russians launched an assault over the platz and into the kanzlei, using artillery guns to knock down the doors. but historians say that the german resistance was alot less fierce then on konigsplatz, because they were exhausted and many had attempted to flee from berlin the night before. those who remained were mainly ss foreign volunteers and even though they had been ordered to "go home" some volkssturm and hitlerjugend stayed to help.

the wilhelmplatz is situated in the berlin regierungsviertel or government district. this means that most of the buildings are ministries, on the map you will find the propaganda ministry, the transport ministry, the railway ministry, ...

if you would turn right in the street right after the pariserplatz on RO-Pariserplatz, you would end up on the wilhelmplatz, so again this map is part of a follow-up serie of maps based on the battle of berlin.

i have modeled the garden of the kanzlei, but im not sure if i will make it playable. in the garden you have the entrance to the Fuhrerbunker, and inside the kanzlei you also have an entrance to it.
the kanzlei is modeled after the original plans of the building, and also the platz is made to look as much alike the real thing.

loadout:
the russians will probably have 1 T-34
germans eventually a sdkfz 251/22

camo skins for germans, no volkssturm but something else...
allied outfits and skins made by evilhobo, with greatcoats and darker skins!

weapon layout similar to pariserplatz

map is about 80% done after only starting this project 1 month ago, and working only a few hours a week on it :confused:

My hope for the future is that we have a 50 player "Battle for Berlin" server.

The rotation would be on a hinge. (if russians win, they advance to the next "level")

All this is made possible by the hard work of mapper/modders who want to up the ante in terms of map quality.

The rotation would be like so:

RO_Kriegstadt
RO_Konigsplatz
RO_Parizer Platz
and now: RO_Wilhelm Platz.

All we need is an epic Seelow Heights map and we've got it made.

well thats what we sort of had in mind, having a [BOB] battle of berlin server, with a dynamic campaign.

who knows one day well have maps that cover the entire BoB from seelow heights to the centre of berlin.

and an easy way to get more maps would be to make different versions of each map destied only for the BoB server. so a day, night, allies vs axis and axis vs allies- version for each map.

so if allies win in 2 rounds only on konigsplatz, then to simulate their fast advance they would go on to attack pariserplatz at night that same day. but if they need 3 rounds to win, they will go on to a day version of pariserplatz.
and if the allies lose on pariserplatz we will switch back to konigsplatz, but this time the germans will attack the allies, and the battle will start at the reichstag.

And at this point look at all the custom content you guys have made. We could make sure each map has it's own variety of SScamo/volksturm skins as well as the greatcoats. Replace all mg42 with hobo's gun... etc etc
